Sarah Hyland Discusses ‘Vampire Academy,’ Pokes Fun At Rihanna ‘Diss’
Sarah Hyland is a big fan of Rihanna, though apparently that door doesn’t swing both ways.
The Modern Family star recently paid a visit to the set of Good Morning America to discuss her role in the upcoming motion picture Vampire Academy. Since the young actress is a fan of Rihanna’s work, she was understandably excited about the singer’s scheduled appearance on the program. Sadly, that bubble soon burst.
While hanging out backstage at GMA, Hyland almost had a chance to chat with Rihanna. Unfortunately, the singer didn’t bother to stick around. If the actress’ feelings were hurt, then she kept her emotions in check while joking about the incident on Twitter.

In addition to getting dissed and dismissed by Rihanna backstage at GMA, Sarah Hyland discussed her role in the upcoming adaptation of the Vampire Academy novel. According to the actress, the role was definitely a little different from her character on Modern Family.
“Natalie is very different than Haley Dunphy. If you’ve ever seen the show, you’re gonna be very surprised,” she explained during the interview.
The actress continued, “I look very different. They put fake pimples and glasses and just like the grossest wardrobe that I love because I got to go to set and didn’t care at all what I looked like so it was so much fun. But she’s very geeky and her best friend is a gossip because she doesn’t have any friends.”
Check out the official synopsis for the upcoming flick below. The movie is presently slated to hit the big screen on February 14. If you decide to catch the adaptation on opening day, then expect to share the theater with lots of teenagers on first dates.
