Did Britney Spears Rip Off Fans With A 3-Second Meet-And-Greet?

Britney Spears reportedly ripped off fans to the tune of $2,500 for a three-second meet-and-greet during her stint at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.

Several fans forked over thousands of dollars to meet the singer face-to-face. Instead of getting to chat with Spears for a few minutes, she only stuck around for a few seconds. Not surprisingly, folks feel they didn’t receive their money’s worth out of the deal.

According to reports, Britney Spears didn’t say too much to the fans who paid $2,500 for the meet-and-greet experience. They also had to abide by a handful of rules during the event, one of which prevented them from bringing the singer any gifts or presents.

“Fans were told before the meet-and-greet that they were not to hug or touch Britney without her permission and they weren’t allowed to bring her any gifts. Fans were anticipating a flashy meet-and-greet with Britney but instead it was just awkward and uncomfortable. She barely spoke. She just smiled and nodded and said ‘thank you’ a lot,” one insider dished.

While the fans that paid thousands of dollars for the quick experience were understandably disappointed by the situation, radio station 98.7 Amp Radio noted that Britney Spears likely had a long line of obligations to contend with at that time. However, this really isn’t an excuse for not taking the time to properly engage with fans.

“It’s up to the artist to make it memorable. It’s unfortunate that Britney didn’t give them a ‘piece of her,’ if you know what I mean,” the station pointed out.

Since Britney Spears and the folks at Planet Hollywood want to make as much money as humanly possible during this venture, there are a number of costly offers available to fans. In addition to backstage passes and meet-and-greet packages, her spokesman said Spears is planning a few other special events in Las Vegas.

Spears will reportedly be available for club openings, pool parties, and so-called “hot dates” during her time in Las Vegas. Analyst Mike Raia told the Daily Star that it’s not unusual for celebrities to market themselves in such a fashion.

“Supergroups like U2 and the Rolling Stones have been doing stuff like this for years. I’m sure she won’t stop signing autographs or posing for snaps with her regular fans. But why shouldn’t she charge top dollar for VIP packages if people are willing to pay?” he explained.

What do you think about Britney Spears only spending a few seconds with fans who paid $2,500 to interact with the singer during a meet-and-greet?
