Rachel Zoe Announces Unusual Name For New Baby Boy

Rachel Zoe and her husband welcomed their first child into the world on Sunday, and the following day the celebrity stylist announced his unusual name.

Rachel announced on her site, The Zoe Report, that her little guy is named Kaius Jagger, or Kai for short. It may sound like another strange pick for a name from a celebrity, but there is actually a beautiful meaning behind the name. For those who may need to freshen up on their high school Latin, Kaius is the word for happy.

Though the reactions to her baby name have been (mostly) positive, Rachel Zoe has a thick skin for criticism. In 2011, she gave birth to a son, Skyler Morrison, and later caught flack for sharing pictures of the boy with long, flowing hair.

“Cut his hair. He looks like a girl,” one commenter wrote.

But Rachel Zoe seems too happy to worry about criticism, writing on The Zoe Report:

As loyal readers of The Zoe Report, I wanted you to be the first to see a picture of the beautiful new addition to our family, Kaius Jagger Berman, aka “Kai”. Rodger, Skyler and I are madly in love and will be happily hibernating for the next couple of weeks. Thank you for all of your kind words, as they mean so much to us. Wishing you and your family a wonderful holiday and Happy New Year!

Rachel has already shared a lot about Kaius online, including a tweet about his arrival and a picture showing herself cradling Kai in her arms at the hospital.

Rachel Zoe will now have plenty of time to get to know little Kaius Jagger. She wrote earlier this month that she is planning a “month-long staycation at home,” and for the first time in 15 years has no travel plans for the holidays.
