‘American Horror Story: Coven’ Set For PaleyFest 2014

American Horror Story: Coven is among the honorees for PaleyFest 2014.

The third installment in Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s horror anthology series, American Horror Story: Coven joins Veronica Mars and Pretty Little Liars for the annual celebration of “television’s rich and diverse programming and the creative process behind the medium,” which will be held at the Dolby Theatre. PaleyFest had previously been held at the Saban Theatre.

“Moving PaleyFest to the landmark Dolby Theatre is an extraordinary testament to the festival’s growth over the years,” Paley Center for Media president and CEO Pat Mitchell said. “Hosting PaleyFest at the prestigious home of the Academy Awards is also an acknowledgement of the caliber of programs we showcase and of the wonderful support we’ve received from our network and studio partners, sponsors, and the amazing creative talents PaleyFest celebrates year after year.”

American Horror Story was honored at PaleyFest for both of its previous seasons. The 2012 panel included creators and executive producers Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, executive producer Dante Di Loreto, and stars Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, Jessica Lange, Alexandra Breckenridge, Sarah Paulson, and Frances Conroy.

In addition to Murphy, Falchuk, Di Loreto, Lange, Paulson, and Conroy, the 2013 panel included executive producer Tim Minear and stars Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, and James Cromwel. It also featured a special appearance by Kathy Bates.

Since it premiered in 2011, the American Horror Story franchise has won 19 of its 91 award nominations. The first season, subsequently re-titled American Horror Story: Murder House, tied with AMC’s Mad Men with 17 Emmy nominations. The second season, American Horror Story: Asylum, led the Emmys with another 17 nominations.

Franchise star Jessica Lange won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries or a Movie in 2011, and James Cromwell won for Outstanding Supporting Actor in 2012. Lange also won a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress in a Series, Miniseries or Television Film and a SAG Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series.

PaleyFest 2014 runs from March 13 through March 28. The festival will open with a Veronica Mars cast reunion ahead of the Veronica Mars movie release on March 14. The full lineup will be announced January 8.

American Horror Story: Coven returns January 8, 2014 with a guest appearance by Fleetwood Mac singer Stevie Nicks.
