Theo And Beau: Napping Toddler And His Puppy Become Viral Hit

Theo and Beau are the best of friends, and now the world has also become enamored with the puppy and his toddler companion as well.

The two were featured in a series of photographs from Jessica Shyba, a blogger at the site MommasGoneCity.com. Shyba detailed for readers the long process her family went through to find and adopt Theo, a mix-breed puppy.

The family went to work training the puppy and getting him used to their toddler, but had a hard time keeping Theo in a kennel. The puppy howled so much that Jessica decided to give up and let him roam free.

“We decided to crate train him,” Jessica wrote. “I bought a crate, and a pen, and a snuggly bed to put inside for when we left. The first night, I slept through his cries and then Justin slept on the couch with him. Frustrated, I vowed that he would be in the crate the next night, no doubt. We would train this puppy ‘right; from the beginning! I couldn’t bear his cries either the next night, and he slept with me.”

But then something amazing happened. Theo and Beau grew close, cuddling every day at naptime.

Jessica writes:

“Each day, Theo meets us at naptime and waits patiently for Beau to fall asleep. By that time, he’s also sleepy, so when I hoist him onto our bed, he stumbles over to Beau and plops right down on top of him. And there they sleep, entwined, for at least two hours.”

Jessica shared pictures of Theo and Beau on her blog and Instagram account, using the hashtag #theoandbeau to keep her more than 40,000 followers updated.

The toddler and his puppy have become a viral hit, featured across blogs and news outlets.
