‘The Goldbergs’ Star Involved In Major Car Crash

The Goldbergs actress Hayley Orrantia was reportedly involved in a serious car crash on the night of September 28. Orrantia, who plays the teen sister on the ABC show, was the driver that caused the major accident.

It’s being reported that Orrantia’s accident was so severe that Ryan Houghton, a 23-year-old man, was admitted to intensive care after she T-boned his car at a very high-speed. The accident allegedly happened because The Goldbergs star averted her eyes for a few seconds.

When we hear of an accident like this, one might immediately think that a substance might be in the mix, but Orrantia had been filming all night right before the accident occurred. Orrantia is believed to have taken her eyes off of the road to check the GPS on her phone when she plowed into Houghton’s car.

According to a report by TMZ, Houghton was rushed to a hospital with serious critical injuries, which included a traumatic brain injury. He is believed to have stayed in ICU for a week before he was moved to a rehab facility for recovery.

Currently, his family is accepting donations for his medical bills. As for The Goldbergs star, authorities said that she was cited for running a red light, and there were no other factors that caused the accident.

However, The Goldbergs star’s lawyer is completely against the allegations that she was looking off the road or at her phone during the accident. According to Orrantia’s lawyer, “The Police record will speak for itself, Hayley was not touching the GPS when she was driving and the allegations are coming from people who were not in the vehicle nor present at the scene at the time.”

Before starring on The Goldbergs, Hayley Orrantia was a contestant on the first season of The X Factor.
