‘Fifty Shades’ Casting: Victor Rasuk Will Play Jose

Fifty Shades Of Grey continues to make casting announcements. The latest news is that Victor Rasuk will play Jose, the rival of Christian Grey.

Jose is a classmate of Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson), who wants to be more than just friends with the innocent college student.

When the troubled billionaire, Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) comes into the picture, he becomes a rival of the man who demands complete devotion from the young woman.

Victor Rasuk’s casting for Fifty Shades is the last of the major roles the production needed to move along.

Producers were left scrambling to find a replacement for Charlie Hunnam, who was the original choice to play Christian and departed the production earlier this month, for whatever reason.

Universal and Focus Features finally found their man when they cast Irish actor and former Calvin Klein model, Jamie Dornan.

With the main cast set, Fifty Shades is ready to start production in December after having to push it back from mid-October.

Sam Taylor-Johnson (Nowhere Boy) is directing with Mike De Luca (The Social Network, Moneyball and Dana Brunetti (House Of Cards, Captain Phillips) producing.

The script is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by E.L. James, who is also producing the film, and is written by Kelly Marcel with Patrick Marber and Mark Bomback.

Deadline is exclusively reporting the casting of Victor Rasuk, who got his big break when he starred as skateboarder Tony Alva in The Lords Of Dogtown, and in HBO’s How to Make It In America.

He also appeared in Raising Victor Vargas and the Steven Soderbergh’s Che.

Fifty Shades Of Grey is the highly successful “mommy porn” novel which made its debut in 2011 and took the world by storm with the depiction of the steamy sexual relationship between Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele.

Even though Fifty Shades lost its main character with the departure of Charlie Hunnam, things seem to finally be on track. The movie is set to open August 1, 2014.
