Dwayne Johnson Shares ‘Hercules’ Images, Production Wraps [Photos]

Dwayne Johnson recently shared a couple of new images from the set of director Brett Ratner’s Hercules: The Thracian Wars with his followers on Twitter.

The busy actor has kept his fans up-to-date with everything happening on the project since filming began. Not only has Dwayne Johnson shared a plethora of behind-the-scenes pics, he also shared footage of him attempting to twist a crew member’s nipples.

The latest image shows Dwayne Johnson riding a chariot while wearing a tiger-skin helmet and cape. The other pics showcase Hercules and the soldiers under his command. Once again, we still don’t get a good look at Johnson’s face. Apparently that’s a secret the actor wants to keep under wraps for now.

Dwayne Johnson told Inquirer Entertainment this year that playing Hercules was a dream come true. Apparently, he’s been after the role for a long time.

The actor explained:

“Hercules’ is something that I have been chasing and developing for over a decade. When I first got into Hollywood, one of my first thoughts was, where is ‘Hercules’ and who’s doing it? I was in a different position at that time than I am today. But I always had ‘Hercules’ in the back of my mind. My onscreen heroes are Arnold Schwarzenegger as Conan, Harrison Ford as Indiana Jones and Hercules. Hercules is essentially the world’s first superhero.”

Although Hercules: The Thracian Wars is getting a lot of buzz, Dwayne Johnson and Bret Ratner aren’t the only ones developing a motion picture based around the heroic character. Twilight alum Kellan Lutz tackles the role in director Renny Harlin’s Hercules: The Legend Begins. Both movies should arrive later this year.
