Tina Fey Nip Slip: Emmy Wardrobe Malfunction A Moment Of Irony

Tina Fey suffered a nip slip at the Emmy Awards this year, but the embarrassing moment was exactly what she’d been asking for earlier in the evening.

Tina was appearing on stage with Tracey Wigfield to receive the Best Comedy Writing award when she suffered a bit of a wardrobe malfunction. She was wearing a bright blue Narciso Rodriguez gown that, unfortunately for her, showed off just a bit too much.

Sharp-eyed viewers found that when viewed in very slow motion, Tina Fey had a nip slip on stage, though only for a fraction of a second. The moment happened when Tina was mid-laugh.

In a way, the nip slip was exactly what Tina Fey had been looking for. Earlier in the show, Tina heckled host Neil Patrick Harris to show off some skin and do a bit of twerking on stage.

“That would be degrading!” Harris shouted in faux outrage.

“We would be de grateful!” Tina replied along with her partner in comedy, Amy Poehler.

Tina has already milked the moment for a few laughs. She is returning to Saturday Night Live this week as the host of the season-opening episode, and in a promo for the show made reference to the accidental flashing.

In the promo, Fey promised the show’s fans that she wouldn’t suffer another wardrobe malfunction, but viewers could see that she had forgotten to wear a shirt.

“And there will be no more wardrobe malfunctions like at the Emmys… It’s not gonna happen,” Fet said. “It’s under control, it’s not gonna happen again… Forgot my shirt.”
