‘Thor: The Dark World’ Drops Two Character Posters [Photos]

Two new posters for Thor: The Dark World have officially arrived online.

Although the artwork you see below was recently featured on the cover of Empire magazine, the folks at Marvel Studios have officially released the posters to the masses.

Not surprisingly, the pair of character posters from Thor 2 feature the titular hero and his arch-enemy Loki. The two will join forces in the upcoming sequel to take down Malekith and his legion of Dark Elves.

Since the release date for the flick is just around the corner, Disney and Marvel are working overtime to make sure everyone on the planet knows about the hero’s latest big-screen adventure. The film’s Facebook and Twitter pages should feature a ton of content in coming days.

Here’s how Marvel describes the flick:

‘Thor: The Dark World’ continues the big screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s ‘Thor and ‘Marvel’s The Avengers,’ Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos, but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor has assembled a mighty cast for his Thor sequel. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano, Jaimie Alexander, Rene Russo, and Anthony Hopkins will make the journey to Asgard later this year.

The latest posters can be found below.

Thor: The Dark World hits 3D, 2D and IMAX 3D theaters on November 8.
