American Horror Story: Coven Teasers Terrify In Ten Seconds [Videos]
If you’re a fan of American Horror Story, then you know what to expect heading into the show’s third season: great writing, great characters, and nothing specific in the multitude of short, surreal and terrifying trailers that lead all the way up to the premiere.
To wit, American Horror Story: Coven absolutely does not disappoint.
In case you don’t know anything about American Horror Story, it’s an anthology horror/drama that airs on FX made by the creators ofGlee(seriously!). Each season is a new story with new characters (though many of the same actors returning in new roles) that plays with a new horror trope. In the first season, it was an old scary house, ghosts, and the Antichrist. In the last season, it was a creepy asylum, medical experiments gone awry, aliens, and the devil.
This upcoming season is about witches (what, did Coven give it away?) who moved from Salem, Massachusetts to New Orleans before the Salem With Trials, and will take place both in the 1830s and modern day.
Returning stars include Jessica Lange as Fiona, Frances Conroy as her rival, Ruth, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, Sarah Paulson, and Taissa Farmiga. New notables include Gabourey Sidibe, Angela Bassett, and Kathy Bates.
