In New York, a whole lot of stuff has to be going down to get people to slow down or look at somwthing.
If you’ve spent any significant time in “the city,” you know that massive hordes of people will briskly walk by murders, robberies and loudly mentally ill people without so much as glancing up from their iPods as they descend the subway stairs. But one of Manhattan’s bustlingest neighborhoods ground to a halt for much of yesterday afternoon due to the appearance of up to 50 unidentified shiny objects in the sky.
Normally, the sight of unidentified shiny objects in Chelsea is no cause for alarm, but in the clip below, a local news channel talks to witnesses on the street who were stopped dead in their tracks by the UFOs. The things are not super clear in the clip- they look a bit more like clouds than anything else. But reports say onlookers were frozen and watching for two whole blocks throughout the several-hours-long phenomenon.
