Carrie Makes Country Music Awards Results Depressing

I thought that country music was all about hope and happiness, but Carrie Underwood’s CMA dress isn’t really driving the message home: I’m thinking more about the corpse bride than anything else. The co-host of last night’s Country Music Awards got her third award for Female Vocalist of the Year, and that means she’ll be looking at pictures of herself in this for years to come (see right). Did she not anticipate this? I would’ve at least shown a little leg.

To quote a Taylor Swift fan, “Taylor [Swift] is like the new queen of all things country.” She was definitely easier on the eyes last night at the CMAs, and while Underwood’s standing ovation for “Just a Dream” won’t repair the damage, it’s a start.
