Man Arrested For Going Into Bar While Leaving Kids In Car

A Dallas man was arrested after he went into a bar while leaving his five kids in the car.

A security guard outside the bar saw an 8-year-old, a 7-year-old, a 3-year-old, a 2-year-old and a 9 month old in a van and called the police. When the policed arrived at the scene, they found the windows rolled up, despite it being 80 degrees outside.

According to the police, the baby was wearing a soiled diaper and there was broken glass and other sharp objects in the van. Luckily, the kids were not hurt.

When police questioned Francisco Lopez in the bar, he said that his wife just had a baby and was in the hospital. When they contacted the mother, she admitted that Lopez was supposed to drop the kids off earlier that night but never showed up at her home.

Apparently this isn’t the first time the 34-year-old man has left his kids in his car. The security guard outside the bar admitted to the police that he warned Lopez several times to not bring his kids to the bar.

Lopez faces five charges of child endangerment and is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

Lopez is not the only parent to leave his children in a car unattended. Last summer, a Kentucky father left his 2-year-old son in a hot car outside of his office.

Kenneth Robinson claimed he forgot to drop the boy off at daycare on his way to work. A co-worker of his called the police after she noticed the little boy looking sweaty and hot.

“I need an ambulance at Patton-Chestnut and Binder ASAP. A child was left in the car,” the co-worker said during a 911 call.

The child was okay, but Robinson was charged with felony wanton endangerment.

What do you think should happen to Lopez for leaving his kids in the car?
