Presley ‘Rhonda’ Gridley Ordered To Pay $7M After Failed Psychic Prediction

Houston, TX – Psychic Presley “Rhonda” Gridley has been ordered to pay a whopping $7,000,000 to a Texas couple after falsely reporting to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office that a mass grave with dismembered bodies, some of which were children, was located at their property.

Presley “Rhonda” Gridley started a media frenzy when she made the report against Joe Bankston and Gena Charlton. After no such mass grave was discovered, the 50-year-old self-described psychic was sued by the couple and ordered to pay $6.8 million to them.

The lawsuit was filed a year ago, with lawyers saying that they would pursue the large amount whether or not “it will be collectible.”

The suit maintained that Gridley had exposed the couple to public hatred, contempt, ridicule and financial injury. For damages suffered, the judge awarded the couple roughly $3.5 million each.

Gridley’s false prediction was reported in 2011, and the lawsuit was filed a year ago.

“Over the course of the day, media defendants began to exaggerate and eventually make up facts about Plaintiffs, including that a mass grave existed on the property, including the bodies of children,” the suit states.

The media circulated the story worldwide, according to the suit.

A few days after the 2011 incident, Gridley told the Houston Chronicle that she had experienced visions her entire life. She confided in two friends who had similar visions about children in trouble. After hearing this, Gridley decided to contact the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.

It is unknown whether or not Presley “Rhonda” Gridley has the means to cover the damages from the lawsuit, but we’re guessing she won’t be making such dramatic predictions anytime soon.
