Two-Faced Kitten Born In Oregon [Video]

A two-faced kitten was born this week in Oregon.

According to the Global Post, the little kitten was born in the town of Amity, Oregon. Her owners have named her “Deucy.”

Owner Stephanie Durkee said: “The kids … came in and said, ‘Mom there’s a kitty with two heads.’ And I said, ‘I think you guys are just tired, you’re crazy, that doesn’t happen.'”

The Guardian reports that Deucy the two-faced kitten was rejected by her mother and had to be fed with a bottle. She’s only a few days old but Durkee said that the cat appears to be healthy.

Yahoo News notes that two-headed cats are very rare but they aren’t unheard of. They are called Janus cats and pop up from time to time. A two-faced kitten was born last year in Port Charlotte, Florida, but died just a few days later.

Cats aren’t the only animals that are occasionally born with an extra face. A pig in China was recently spared a trip to the slaughterhouse because it had two heads.
