Neil Patrick Harris Used The N-Word During Tony Awards? No, No He Did Not [Video]

Did Neil Patrick Harris use the n-word last night at the Tony Awards? No, no he did not.

Still, several sites reported this morning that the singer dropped the n-word after Mike Tyson took the stage.

Harris reportedly sings: “In tandem like we planned ’em, forgive me if it’s random but Mike Tyson had a one man show let’s give the man a hand. And make things bigger, we’re going bigger. I’m here with Iron Mike Tyson he’s a heavyweight yo. We’re going bigger. Is ‘Is I his n***a.’ We’ve got cheerleaders, contortionists and so.”

Only that’s not what Harris sings.

A video of the performance surfaced online earlier today with the word “bigger” bleeped out to make it appear like NPH said something offensive.

What Harris actually sings is “we’re going bigger, tonight is bigger” and not “we’re going bigger, is I his n***ga.” (You can watch the video below and decide for yourself but you can trust me, Neil Patrick Harris did not use the n-word on stage last night.)

Live shows are known for having a few controversial moments but it’s pretty unlikely that the scripted song included the n-word. On top of that, it’s pretty unlikely that NPH would use the n-word, especially on national television and especially when he’s standing next to the ear biting Iron Mike.

But if that logic isn’t good enough for you, watch the video below.

The video above contains a beep which makes it sound like NPH said something offensive. But if you watched the Tony Awards (or if you watch the performance below) it’s pretty clear that Neil Patrick Harris didn’t use the N-word last night.

Here’s the video of the opening monologue at the Tony Awards last night. Skip to the three minute mark to see Tyson’s entrance and the “controversial” segment of the song.

Do you think Neil Patrick Harris used the n-word last night at the Tony Awards?
