Amy’s Baking Company Has Facebook Meltdown After ‘Kitchen Nightmares’ Episode

kitchen nightmares

The owners of Amy’s Baking Company may have a slight anger problem. Samy and Amy Bouzaglo created such a headache for Gordon Ramsay that he walked away from the restaurant on the season finale of Kitchen Nightmares. The episode aired on Friday, but Samy and Amy have kept their restaurant in the spotlight by screaming at their online critics on Facebook.

Samy and Amy said on Kitchen Nightmares that they frequently responded to online critics on review sites like Yelp. Ramsay was absolutely shocked to learn that the restaurant owners cursed and screamed at the online bullies and told the owners of Amy’s Baking Company that it had to stop.

Well, Samy and Amy didn’t exactly learn their lesson. They’ve spent the last few days screaming at people via Facebook.

After the episode aired (check out the video below) Amy’s Baking company wrote on Facebook: “We do not feel the need to make any excuses for our behavior on tonight’s show.”

The restaurant’s page was filled with mean comments and the restaurant owners replied exactly how you might think they would.

One comment reads: “You are little punks. Nothing. You are all nothing. We are laughing at you. All of you, just fools. We have God on our side, you just have your sites.

Another comment promises to bring Reddit users, Yelp users, and Gordon Ramsey to the light of God.

The comment reads: “YOU DO NOT KNOW US!!! WE WILL THRIVE! WE WILL OVERCOME! WE WILL TEACH OUT CHILD EXACTLY WAHT GOD WANTS IN THEIR PATH. WE WILL TEACH THEM HOW TO FIGHT AGAINST OPPRESSORS LIKE YOU PEOPLE! WE WILL START A GENERATION OF TRUTHFULNESS AND WE WILL FIGHT TO BRING PLACES LIKE YELP AND REDDIT AND HORRIBLE PEOPLE LIKE GORDON TO THE LIGHT.”

Here’s the video from the season finale of Kitchen Nightmares.

Amy's Baking Company – Kitchen Nightmares… by tvchannels

Amy’s Baking Company posted a Facebook message today saying that their account had “obviously been hacked.”

The message reads: “Obviously our Facebook, YELP, Twitter and Website have been hacked. We are working with the local authorities as well as the FBI computer crimes unit to ensure this does not happen again. We did not post those horrible things. Thank You Amy &Samy.”

Needless to say, people aren’t really buying the “hacked” excuse.

Is she 15? I'm betting it's either immaturity or mental problems……….

This comment by Samy sounded like a religious terrorist rant! XD

Someone on another site pointed out the law is very clear regarding tips. The employees MAY make an agreement amongst themselves to pool their tips and divide them evenly; but the employer can't choose to do that for them as they implied they were doing after the show aired. (I doubt that's really the case though.) And somehow, I doubt their employees would cover for them if they got investigated. I wouldn't be surprised if charges were brought against them for stealing from their employees. I also wouldn't be surprised if other legal "irregularities" were discovered. Amy's been to prison before; it wouldn't be a huge surprise if she managed to find her way back there.

I'm sensing some sort of combination of bipolarism and being holier-than-thou, and let's not forget the obvious paranoia of everyone being out to get them.

I'm stoked that they're going to raise their cats to be sentient as shown by this quote: "WE WILL TEACH OUT CHILD EXACTLY WAHT GOD WANTS IN THEIR PATH. WE WILL TEACH THEM HOW TO FIGHT AGAINST OPPRESSORS LIKE YOU PEOPLE! WE WILL START A GENERATION OF TRUTHFULNESS".

  5. Justin Hagevold

I agree with Teddi about "irregularities". I think they should be audited, if they're acting like they really don't need business, then they're making their money some other way. That, and not letting the servers enter orders into the POS is very suspicious because they might see that they're making tables up so it reflects their business is doing well, when it is really quite dead. I think they're laundering money over there, and they should have been a little more subtle about it. There is no way I can believe they've been open for this long without some form of alternate cash.

From Phoenix here and I'm aware of this place, it's not that far from where I work. Everyone I know is talking about it with posts and shares galore on my newsfeed, and I've lately been hearing friends say, "This is ridiculous! We should go and check this place out."

But from my perspective, attitudes and actions like these just helps them thrive in the long run. They've gotten thousands of likes on their page and have gotten a significant increase in their social and site traffic. They've also become fairly busy with those that are curious about the hype of this place and going into their shop with intentions of purchasing their products and requesting reservations. If you were to call now, you'd find that they're booked for the next month because of how much attention they've been getting. This saddens me. It's attention like this that gives disrespectful snobs like them the upper hand despite the bad publicity. With the pace they're going, they're bound to get their own reality show and will end up being the last ones laughing.

The correct response to this would be to not give them any attention what so ever. To not visit their site or fan pages, to not visit their store, and especially to not purchase their products just because you want to experience all the hype. If you don't believe a business like theirs should succeed because they represent everything that's not what the food and beverage industry is about when serving guests, then the best thing to do is to ignore them and watch them crumble.

I hope they do thrive. I hope they get their own spin-off show and entertain me for years to come. I actually wish nothing but the best for them because every bat-shit insane piece of news I read about this place brings me pure happiness.

  8. Amanda Kaestner

Aww Jim! You must enjoy shows like Honey Boo Boo and The Kardashians and their fantastic influence on what we perceive as "quality" entertainment.

  9. Heather Ferris

I totally disagree, Amanda. Yes, they are CURRENTLY experiencing a huge bump in both social traffic and possibly actual traffic (even though I'm 90% sure they are not even open right now). But they will never, ever recover from this. They are horrible, insane people who will never learn their lesson and NEVER treat any future customers with anything even approaching respect. By ignoring them completely, they'll be able to hide in a corner, lick their wounds, and COME BACK stronger (at least until they do something like this again). Because people will have either not heard about their insanity or will have forgotten.

But we remain vigilant in sharing their disgusting business model with everyone, they'll die of stress-induced aneurysms before they see any success.

  10. Amanda Kaestner

Heather I can see where you say they're terrible people and it's the attention they've gotten thus far that lets everyone and their mothers know. But I can't understand how ignoring them and cutting off any type of support could possibly boost them up to "come back stronger." If a business gets 0 sales, they can't afford to maintain business. This includes profit from their site and dine-in customers. I think businesses like their don't deserve any attention what so ever and the power of masses ignoring them is stronger in the long run than our curiosity to witness all the hype. Mentally unstable folks like ABC thrive off of any attention, negative or positive.

  11. Heather Ferris

I meant come back stronger somewhere else, starting over, after people have forgotten about them. But if their faces are everywhere long enough, even in the future people will remember. "Hey let's check out this new place…oh wait! Isn't that crazy Amy from Kitchen Nightmares? ABORT! ABORT!"

  12. Amanda Kaestner

In that case, that is a great point. Letting the public know is one thing, but this has gone on for a week now. Being in customer service and the F&B industry, you just can't help but wish ill upon businesses like these. ABORT!

  13. Jim Burch

I watched Honey Boo Boo for about 5 minutes, had a laugh, and never went back to it. Never watched Kardashians, no interest. But I don't subscribe to this notion that I'm eroding the fiber of American dignity by enjoying trashy TV from time to time. In the words of Jim Gaffigan: "We all eat McDonalds… just comes in a different package."

  14. Mike Hooper

These JOKERS are the biggest idiots ever!!!what a bunch of morons but I bet you could bring lunch to Jodi Aries and she would like it!! Maybe for her last supper

  15. Amanda Kaestner

Jim there's better "trashy" TV out there that doesn't focus on stroking the egos of single characters. Can we settle this and have a day to watch funny Japanese game shows or "reality" obstacle TV like Wipeout?

  16. Ashly Keenan

I'm not too worried about them being booked for the next month or anything. If they have THAT big an increase in sales, there is NO WAY Amy can keep up with it. I foresee a meltdown of epic(er) proportions in the works. She can't even handle three tables food orders, let alone a full house!

  17. Joshua Holbrook

Amanda Kaestner I'm pretty sure Samy has a lot of $$$ that he can afford to blow on keeping open an unsuccessful restaurant.

  18. Jochen Walther

Amanda, I am kinda with Heather on this one. Yes, ignoring them would be one way to go, but on the other hand I can not accept to let people like this to get away with something like this. Stealing Money from waiters, cussing at customers, etc is NOT an acceptable behavior. The publicity is already done and can not be undone. So I rather trash the shit out of their Biz and make people aware of it not to give them any Business. It also serves as a warning for future potential employees there. Did you see the turnover of over 100 is about a year? Now college Kids or highschool kids will think twice to work there unless they want to get abused and robbed on a daily basis. Amanda, there are many unjust things going on in the World, but staying out of it, not saying anything, ignoring them is just empowering people like this to do what they do. So I "Strongly" disagree with you on this particular subject. I will always speak up when something or someone is not right. Thats my opinion.

  19. Anonymous

These people are scary. Something is going on there and not a good thing. This looks like a situation where Amy might go off the deep end and shoot everyone and then wonder why people are upset about it. Crazy runs deep in there! Stay away….

  20. Bill Waple

I'm not sure about the laws in Arizona, but this looks like a case of wage theft caught on camera. I hope this is investigated.

  21. Hannah Summers

Are they talking about their cat children? Lol

  22. Tammy Perrault

Whoa! Only 6 minutes in and I can honestly say I'd be scared for my life to work there!

  23. Amanda Kaestner

Jochen, you can't let people get away with something like this? Really? If waiters getting their tips taken and delivering poor customer service is the type of injustice it takes for you to react and spread the word, then what about everything else going on in the world? It's not right to give two batshit crazies so much viral attention whose business will probably meet it's demise without the help of the entire internet bashing them and deter attention to other much more terrible happenings going on. I suppose we simply have different definitions as to what's a priority to call attention to and what to turn a cheek to and just walk away and let them get whatever's meant to come to them.

  24. Jochen Walther

Amanda, I speak up to anything and everything that bothers me (people who know me know that). Yes these two crazy people get a lot of attention, but its at a place close to where I live so there is something I can do about it. There are many more important things going on in the world that deserve our attention and I agree with you on that. But if there is something I can do about people that bother me then I will do it. There are many terrible things going on in the world that we can do not much about it, but we try. During the Balkan wars we took in a refugee from Bosnia and it was the right thing to do despite the fact that I could not do anything about the war. This is just an example to show you that we must do something and little steps to improve our society. By letting abusive people get away with what the do just enables them even more and might inspire other to do the same. It's ok if you have a different opinion and definition of priorities, we are still friends. :-)

  25. Amanda Kaestner

That's great to hear how you contribute, Jochen. And the examples you gave were fantastic. So I have to say that something like this would be petty on the scale of which you gave examples on. I do think it's amazing that half a world away this is still entertaining. Where are the crazy stories of batshit crazy European bakers and restaurant owners?

  26. Jochen Walther

Oh Amanda don't get me started on crazy Europeans. :-)

  27. Jenn Plamondon

I don't know the laws there, but I also questioned the legality of taking the tips.

  28. Chris Hays

So you are saying, people are willing to pay to have a bad meal? Just so they can be apart of a social experience? I wonder if they are all flocking there only because of how much of an impact this has had on the online community.

  29. Chris Hays

There was this post on reddit that said it's all just a front. After watching the episode, I'm starting to believe that.

  30. Adam Browning

It is perfectly legal, so long as they are paying the employees minimum wage.

  31. Bill Waple

It's really not. The owner can implement a no tip policy and make the servers return or refuse tips, but he cannot keep them. According to the Arizona Attorney General and the US department on Labor it is illegal for the owner to keep the tips. It is wage theft.
The amount the the server is paid doesn't matter because the job is one where people customarily tip and therefore tips are a part of their compensation. The owner cannot keep any part of the tips earned by the employee.

  32. Bill Waple

Not to mention, he's probably not reporting tips as a part of his income (I can't really imagine listing stolen wages on one's tax forms), so he is probably commiting tax fraud as well – but that is speculation and I do not have evidence of that.

  33. Lim Ming Jie

Actually this rant sound like Amy – Samy usually identifies himself on posts if I'm not wrong.

  34. Matt Yazzi

this place is going to go under. its ben vandalized and it will continue to get bad reviews. then the owners will divorce. Amy needs therapy and Sammy needs to get his head out of his ass

  35. Dawn Stump-Lackey

Well i watched the show finally and was not even sure if this was real a untrained cook and baker her baked goods looked store bought. They need to move to another state and not be in this buisness they ruined themselfs by being on that show the worst was taking those hardworking servers tips so gross!!!!!!!!!
