Psy Knocked Off Top Spot On Korean Chart By 63-Year-Old Crooner

Psy has been knocked off the top of the Korean music charts by 63-year-old crooner Cho Yong-pil.

Psy has been riding another wave of success with “Gentleman,” his follow up to “Gangnam Style.” The video has been watched more than 2.25 million times on YouTube and landed him at the top of the music charts in Korea last week

But Psy is no longer the biggest name in Korea. Cho Yong-Pil, a mainstay on the Korean music scene, took over the top spot today with the song “Bounce” from his latest album Hello.

According to the Independent, Cho Yong-Pil didn’t just take the top spot from Psy, he took all top 10 spots. Tracks from Yong-Pil’s album Hello occupy all 10 spots on the daily charts, knocking Psy down to 13th.

But don’t cry for Psy. The Korean pop star’s song has been a massive global hit and he just hit No. 5 on the Billboard 100.

Psy said that he was thrilled with his success in Korea and had nothing but respect for the 63-year-old singer.

Psy said: “I couldn’t be happier, although getting on the Billboard chart also makes me really grateful.”
