Thom Yorke Offers Love Life Advice To Teenagers [Video]

Radiohead’s lead singer, Thom Yorke, has been offering advice to lovelorn teenagers in a new online video.

Alongside Nigel Godrich, who is Yorke’s Atoms For Peace’s bandmate and has produced several Radiohead albums, Yorke answered questions that were supplied to him by Rookie’s, Ask A Grown Man, series.

The duo provided answers to various quandaries that range from sex to dating and breakups. One question asked included, “How do you tell the boy you have a crush on that you have a crush on him if you are really, really, really shy and so is he?”

Yorke then responded, “If you have a crush on him, if you’re really, really, really, really shy, which is what I was at that age – also, I was at a boys’ school so it was impossible to meet girls anyway – how about just write him a note, if you can’t bear to talk to him. Or throw him against the wall sometime.”

Yorke also answered a question that dealt with his eye, which was fixed shut when he was born. Yorke labeled his eye “wonky” and then revealed that he too suffered during his youth because of it.

“When I was your age I was convinced that girls would think that was really not nice at all,” stated Yorke. “I worked in this pub and this old woman – she was so funny – she used to come in all the time, and she was the first person who really said to me, ‘It’s the nicest thing about you’.”

Yorke did divulge that she was drunk at the time but it still helped to raise his confidence.

Yorke and Godrich followed in the footsteps of Jimmy Fallon and Judd Apatow by appearing on the internet series. You can watch a clip of their exchange below.
