Selena Gomez Drops New Single ‘Come And Get It,’ Hints Justin Bieber Has Bad Friends

Selena Gomez has dropped her new single “Come And Get It.”

After a few teasers, the track arrives earlier than the expected April 8, possibly to take advantage of a relatively quiet release weekend and the spotlight on the 20-year-old courtesy of speculation about her split from Justin Bieber.

With lyrics simple enough for Gomez’s R&B pop market, the former Wizards of Waverly Place actress delivers a stronger vocal than previous outings as she sings:

“When you’re ready come and get it na na na na na na na na,” as the song’s hook.

The singer-actress currently stars as a co-ed in Spring Breakers with Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Benson and James Franco.

In support of her movie and upcoming album, Gomez guested recently on Late Show with David Letterman and revealed that she made her ex-boyfriend cry when they split last December. She also spoke of her new-found happiness as a singleton on Chelsea Lately.

In an interview with the UK’s The Guardian, Gomez reflected on the fame game:

“Luckily, I’ve been able to experience it all before. I grew up in one of the biggest high schools in the world — the Disney channel,” said the actress, who was targeted in a swatting sting this weekend.

“I grew up with the Jonas brothers and Miley [Cyrus]. I got to experience all that at such a young age, unfortunately — or fortunately — that now it just doesn’t faze me. At this point in my life I have really good people around me.”

Gomez’s comments may have been a reference to the speculation that Bieber’s spate of negative headlines about his exploits on tour, the alleged stripper and weed parties thrown by Lil Twist at his house and the battery allegations made against him are down to the Canadian’s unsavory friends.

Next up for Gomez, her live debut of “Come And Get It” at the 2013 MTV Movie Awards on April 14.
