Adriana Lima Dress Wows Onlookers, Despite Being Worn Backwards

Adriana Lima’s dress at Tuesday night’s II BrazilFoundation Gala Miami may have looked familiar to catwalk-watchers – but only those who really pay close attention.

The Victoria’s Secret model rocked up to the event in a stunning Alberta Ferretti Spring 2012 runway gown. Better still, she worn the posh frock backwards.

It’s not known whether the reversal of the dress was a deliberate ploy or a faux-pas on Lima’s part, but, as the pictures show, she sort of got away with it by being Adriana Lima.

Snaps of the dress being modeled last year on Milan catwalks (see below) show how designer Alberta Ferretti originally intended the outfit to be a silky, pajama-like jumpsuit with cutout side panels.

Lima may have had other ideas, however. The 31-year-old Brazilian model turned the garment into a dress with a plunging neckline. That, or she didn’t check which side the label was on before leaving the house. Hey, we’ve all done it.

Either way, she pulled it off beautifully, completing the frock with diamond drop earrings. And as Lima tweeted this week, “Embrace your flaws. Imperfection is beautiful.”
