Google Android Froyo? The Next Version Of The Popular Mobile OS
Recently Erick Tseng told Engadget that the new name for the next Google Android OS will be “Froyo.” A name short for “Frozen Yogurt.”
If you’re wondering why they would name the OS after a dessert, it’s actually the naming convention for the companies prior Google Android system builds, starting wth the Cupcake and Donut builds and then the “Eclair” OS, the last to have been named.
Unfortunately no other information is available at this time, just remember when officially released the name will more than likely be a number, for example Eclair is technically Google Android 2.0.
Whatever the finalized version name may be, one thing is for certain, Android keeps getting better and better with every single release.

I’d say Gelato is a good guess. Especially if they’re going with frozen yogurt for the next release. Frozen yogurt and gelato are fairly similar. Thanks for such a great post within us…

Eclair is Android 2.0 not 2.1. It was named and released long before 2.1 came out this month.
