Obama Attends Sasha’s Basketball Game In Maryland

Barack Obama may be the President of the United States but he’s also the father to two girls. On Saturday, the Commander and Chief sat in the stands at a community center in Chevy Chase, Maryland, to watch Sasha’s basketball game.

Obama is an avid basketball fan. He frequently plays with his staff members, holds an annual event to choose his March Madness picks, and recently he spent the day with defending champions the Miami Heat. According to ABC, he also once acted as an assistant coach for his daughter’s basketball team.

Obama was the assistant coach of Sasha’s team, the Vipers, for at least one season. Obama didn’t do any coaching today but he did take an hour out of his schedule to watch Sasha’s basketball game.

Despite Obama’s love for the game, and the fact that he once coached his girls, the President said that he couldn’t take too much credit for their skill.

Obama said: “I can’t take too much credit for it. What you see is them progressively improving, coming together as a team, running plays, things kicking in that you practice. It’s a great, great joy to watch.”

Chevy Chase, Maryland, is just outside of Washington D.C. The President returned to the White House shortly after the game.
