Elle Macpherson Engaged To Boyfriend One Year After Breaking Up

Elle Macpherson is engaged to her longtime boyfriend, who just last year decided to call it quits.

The Australian supermodel and boyfriend Jeffrey Soffer dated for two years before they broke up last March. But they didn’t stay split for long, as they were reunited by the end of the year and now have decided to get married.

The engagement to Elle Macpherson will make it quite a year for Jeffrey Soffer. The hotel heir and Florida billionaire was in a helicopter crash in November in the Bahamas that killed his friend Lance Valdez. Soffer was badly injured in the accident as well, suffering a fractured vertebrae.

The crash may have been what brought Elle Macpherson and Jeffrey Soffer back together. After the crash Elle reportedly rushed to be by his side in Miami.

“Jeff is very shaken up and mourning the loss of his friend,” a source told the New York Post at the time of the crash. “Elle is landing in Miami imminently to visit him and offer her support at a very tough time.”

Though they had both entered new relationships by that point, Soffer and Macpherson soon found themselves dating again after being reunited.

Now that Elle Macpherson is engaged she will reportedly move to Florida full time to be with Soffer. It will be her second marriage after spending three years married to photographer Gilles Bensimon. Macpherson also has two sons from her previous relationship with Arpad Busson — Arpad Arpad Flynn Alexander Busson, 15, and Aurelius Cy Andrea Busson, 10.

Soffer has been married once before as well.

A representative for the supermodel and Fashion Star host had no comment on Elle Macpherson’s engagement when contacted on Friday.

Though Elle Macpherson may be engaged, it seems unlikely that she’ll be settling into a quiet married life. The 48-year-old is still very active in the modeling world, and aside from her duties on Fashion Star has been in many magazine spreads as well.
