Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle are thinking about going on tour together.
The two comedians were talking at the Comedy Cellar in New York on Wednesday night and the idea of going on tour was being tossed around.
Chappelle, who has largely stayed out of the spotlight since abruptly ending his hit show, The Chappelle Show, in 2005, invited Rock to come down to Oakland to do a show. Rock said that Dave should come out to West Palm Beach and soon the two comedians were talking about a possible tour.
“After next Tuesday, I’m free for like 11 years … No, I’ve got time between now and the movie … By Halloween, I could do dates.”
The Comics Comics reports that the exchange came early on Wednesday morning after all of the Comedy Cellar’s scheduled shoes were finished. The after party included appearances by Chris Rock and Dave Chappelle, but also Kevin Hart, Bill Bellamy, Hannibal and Marlon Waynes.
“This could be the show. Fireside chats with Chris Rock.”
Nothing is set in stone at the moment but it is encouraging to see Chappelle talking about doing a major tour again. Questlove, who was at the Comedy Cellar that night, gave a run down of the show on Instagram.
