PS3 firmware update 3.15 is go!

Just a quick reminder, folks: PlayStation 3 firmware update 3.15 is now available to all PS3 owners. The free (and optional) update for Sony’s console might not yet include Facebook, but it does serve two other useful features.

First is the ability to play PSP minis, the bitesize games that were launched in October, on the big screen.

Apparently, if you buy a minis game from December 17, it will work on both PS3 and PSP, meaning you only need to download it once. Handy, if you’re into minis (which you should be, because there are a couple of real gems in that range – I advise Fieldrunners and Blast Off).

The update also allows you to transfer saved data between PS3 consoles, making sure all your existing content is safe: that goes for games, game save data, videos downloaded from PlayStation Network, and personal media files (photos, music, and videos).
