Singer Marilyn Manson collapsed on stage in Canada last night, confusing fans as he keeled over and fell during a performance as he sang “Beautiful People.”
The news that Marilyn Manson collapsed during the hastily concluded show in Saskatoon last night first began to filter through to the web via Twitter, where fans at the concert started to tweet about the unfolding calamity. MusicFeeds watched the reports come through, quoting several Twitter users as describing a scene of confusion as Manson lay on the stage:
“@BasementGalaxy tweeted that there was much confusion following Manson’s collapse. According to Begrand’s post, it appeared that Manson’s band continued to play along to a click track, unsure of what to do, until a drum tech told them to stop … Meanwhile @HannahFranson tweeted a very succinct summary of what transpired. ‘Wow good way for a concert to end. Manson falls down, pukes, then gets dragged off stage. #SayNoToDrugsPeople.’ “
TMZ followed up with Marilyn Manson’s flak after the collapse, but was unable to verify the singer’s current health status. The site reports:
“There are reports that Manson vomited on the stage … but it’s unclear from the footage … Manson was eventually helped off the stage. We’ve got calls in to his people to find out his condition.”
Ahead of the show, Marilyn Manson spoke in an interview about his “comeback,” and ennui he’d experienced in recent years about the trajectory of his career and later works.
The singer promised a newer, fresher Marilyn Manson, explaining:
“The only way you can get out of it is to put your (bleeping) boots on, stand up and start kicking your own ass … It really took saying to myself, which isn’t easy for anyone, that I needed to make a comeback.”
