Dog With ‘Human Face’ Up For Adoption In Indiana

A dog with a human face has been put up for adoption in Indiana.

According to Gawker, the poodle-Shih Tzu mix was sentenced to death at kill shelter in Kentucky. It’s unclear how the dog, named Tonik, ended up at the kill shelter but the good news is that he’s been moved from Kentucky to Indiana and is now up for adoption.

Petfinder writes:

“Tonik came to us from a kill shelter in Kentucky and there is a very sweet boy in there who is trying to figure things out and enjoy people. It seems he has not had too much socialization. He is great with other dogs. He is not dangerous, but should not be placed with young children because he will get too overwhelmed.”

Tonik may be a little anti-social but who wouldn’t love a dog with a human face?

If you want to adopt Tonik you can contact the Homeward Bound Animal Welfare Group here.

The shelter, who said that Tonik will have to be picked up in person, is looking for someone who can give Tonik a “forever home.”

Do you think Tonik has a “human face?”

Dog has a face like a dog, not a human. Of course, it makes good headlines for the dog to be seen, but is VERY misleading.

I think it's the eyes, otherwise, it's a sad dog face.

  11. And I know a baby that has a bear butt.. It is a cute dog though.. Wish it well…

  12. So, why was he in a kill shelter anyway?
Was he "too human" looking and people were scared of him or soething? Give me a break!
Poor little guy! Glad he was rescued, though – hope he finds a great forever home!

He was in a kill shelter but that's most of what they have down in Kentucky.

Because people keep breeding animals, and don't get their animals spayed or neutered… There are too many animals, and not enough people. The shelters cannot afford to keep these animals forever, and as there are not enough homes for them, it is considered to be the most humane thing to do. If you want to help, spay and neuter your animals as soon as allowed, adopt all of your animals from the shelter, donate to the rescue organizations if you can, and avoid breeders like the plague. Send them a message that we will not tolerate their continued influx of animals on this planet when there are so many unwanted animals that are in need of a home.

ALL HUMANS ARE SHIT PERIOD! WE WILL ALL GET WHAT WE DESERVE IN THE END!

  23. HOLLY HORN…YOU NAILED IT BAR NONE! PEOPLE, PLS ADHERE TO HOLLY'S SOUND ADVICE. IT IS THE BEST WAY TO DO THIS FOR THE DOGS! BREEDERS ARE DOING DOGS AN AWFUL INJUSTICE! HAVE A HEART! DOGS DO NOT HAVE A VOICE! THEY ARE OUR BEST FRIENDS, SO LOVING, UNCONDITIONAL LOVE. DO NOT BE SO SELFISH BREEDERS!

If this dog has a human face so does mine. She looks just like him only black and silver. Same eyes, mouth, nose and all. Actually mine is Carin terrier and poodle mix. Must be the breed charateristics.

It's a sad story. I hope someone kind & loving adopts him soon. And, FYI: he looks like a Shih Tzu, they have that look about them. They are very intellegent little dogs, & very sweet & loving too. He'll make a great little addition to anyone's family!

  30. not sure which one of our sending shelters this one came from, but the girl that runs the rescue, Jen…is an absolute doll! If anyone can find this baby a wonderful home it's her.
