Is Katie Holmes About To Quit Acting And Become A Lawyer?


Katie Holmes is about to quit acting, and instead plans to become a lawyer.

Katie’s close friend has reportedly told the National Enquirer that she is tied of the acting profession, and is now focusing on becoming a role model for her daughter, Suri.

Katie’s father, Martin Holmes, is a lawyer based in Toledo, who has worked in several fields which includes, personal injury, business litigation, and matrimonial law. It is believed that Martin helped his daughter through her divorce from Tom Cruise in 2012.

Holmes is also eager to escape the limelight that has followed her since her separation from the Jerry Maguire actor.

The 34-year-old has looked to move beyond the acting profession in the past. In the 1990s she applied to attend New York’s Columbia University, but after she landed a lead role in Dawson’s Creek she decided to defer her attendance.

Someone who will be happy if Holmes decides to leave the acting profession will be Anne Hathaway, after it was revealed that the pair are bitter rivals because they used to compete for the same roles.

A source told the National Enquirer, “Anne and Katie are long-time rivals. Anne puts forth a very genial, friendly image, but she has a wicked competitive streak. She doesn’t like Katie because they used to go up for similar roles.”

The insider then added, “Anne always felt like Katie used her Hollywood connections through Tom to advance her career. And she constantly makes fun of Katie behind her back, mocking her former marriage and even her appear acne.”
