Revenge Porn Site Goes Down After Women File Lawsuit

Marianna Taschinger, Holley Toups and about 20 other Texas women have filed a lawsuit against revenge porn website Texxxan.com and its host GoDaddy.com.

According to ABC, the website featured several photos of women in sexual positions that were allegedly submitted by angry ex-boyfriends.

Marianna Taschinger said that she sent a few nude photos to a man that she had been dating for a few months. She later found out that he posted the images to Texxan.com.

Taschinger said:

“He eventually got me to trust him and I did. I guess I didn’t know that people were that horrible.”

Taschinger and dozens of other women have now filed a lawsuit against the website and its host, GoDaddy, for monetary damages. According to Beaumont Enterprise, the lawsuit was filed by attorney John Morgan who says that the site violates Texas privacy laws.

Shortly after the lawsuit was filed Texxxan.com took down its pornographic content and replaced it with a message. The website said that it merely provides a forum for people to exchange personal photos. Although it admits that the site has been used regularly for revenge porn, Texxan.com does not believe that it has done anything wrong.

A statement on the site reads:

“We are currently assessing the current controversial issues at hand but even though we may not agree with what this website has evolved into due to submissions and comments of public viewers of the website, we find no wrong doing from the website which has only been a framework for the public viewers to build upon.”

The website ends its message with a simple question: Should the site relaunch or should it be killed?
