After being beaten to the Golden Globe award for best comedy or musical by Lena Dunham’s Girls, you would expect the cast of Modern Family to react in a sophisticated and gracious manner. You were wrong.
Instead they released an angry photo of each of the cast members in tears, and even showed Sophia Vergara swearing towards a photographer, in response to their rejection. But don’t fret, it was just meant as a little bit of fun.
Anyway, the cast and crew of Modern Family have been through this before, they were nominated in both 2010 and 2011 for the same award, losing out in each year, but finally climbed the crown they coveted at last year’s ceremony.
Vergara, who plays Gloria Delgado-Pritchett, on the show posted the picture online, adding the caption, “We loose (sic) this time.”
The Colombian actress though won’t be too disappointed at not picking up the award, as she recently told “People” magazine, “The award is just going to the awards show. I never expected in my life that I was going to be part of a show like Modern Family and be nominated for anything. I’m very new to acting, so for me, it’s a party.”
The 2013 Golden Globes, which were hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, saw big wins for Dunham’s Girls, as well as Ben Affleck’s Argo, Daniel Day Lewis for his portrayal as Abraham Lincoln, and Les Miserables.
Which show do you prefer, Modern Family or Girls? Do you think that Modern Family was robbed?
