‘Blindspot’ Season 3 Star Jaimie Alexander Chose To Do NBC Series Over Minor Appearance In ‘Thor: Ragnarok’

She may be known as Jane Doe in the hit series Blindspot, but Jaimie Alexander made her mark as the unbeatable Lady Sif in the Marvel Cinematic Universe films. However, the actress has been significantly absent in all the press tours for Thor: Ragnarok. Does this mean Sif has been written out of the third Thor movie? Alexander recently revealed that she decided to pass on being in director Taika Waititi’s flick so she could finish work on Blindspot Season 3.

Fans have been hoping to see Lady Sif in action once again in Thor: Ragnarok. After all, the Odinson will need all the help he can get to defeat Cate Blanchett’s Hela, and Sif just seems like the best person who could take on the Goddess of Death. However, the trailers for the MCU film offered no hints about Sif’s return. Now, Jaimie Alexander has offered an explanation why her character will not make an appearance in Ragnarok.

Jaimie Alexander has admitted that her busy schedule prevented her from working on Thor: Ragnarok. According to the Blindspot actress, the sequel and the third season of the NBC series were filmed during the same time period.

“I was asked, but the timing of when they were going to shoot and when Blindspot was gonna shoot — it was pretty much the same time so there was a conflict there.”

Although there is no chance for Lady Sif to join the fight in Thor: Ragnarok, Jaimie Alexander is still hoping to reprise the role in future MCU movies. The actress stated that she would be “happy to do other projects with [Marvel] at any time.” For now, it looks like Alexander will have to focus on kicking butts as Jane Doe in Blindspot Season 3.

The premiere of Blindspot Season 3 certainly opened with jaw-dropping moments, which included Jane Doe and Kurt Weller’s wedding as well as Roman’s shocking return. However, things are about to get crazier in the second episode. In “Enemy Bag of Tricks,” the newly reunited team are set to face “a dangerous foreign power that is trying to hijack a satellite.” Hopefully, Jane and Weller can adjust to working with each other once again.

Thor: Ragnarok will hit theaters on November 3. Blindspot Season 3 Episode 2 will air on NBC on the same day.
