Westboro Baptist Church Petition Now Most Popular On White House Website

westboro baptist church

There have been some pretty big petitions on the We The People website but the Westboro Baptist Church petition has gathered more support than most. The petition has close to 250,000 signatures and is the largest on the White House website.

The petition to have the Westboro Baptist Church officially recognized as a hate group was created on December 14, shortly after the church announce that it would protest the funerals of the people who died during the elementary school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.

The petition reads:

“This group has been recognized as a hate group by organizations, such as The Southern Poverty Law Center, and has repeatedly displayed the actions typical of hate groups. Their actions have been directed at many groups, including homosexuals, military, Jewish people and even other Christians. They pose a threat to the welfare and treatment of others and will not improve without some form of imposed regulation.”

The petition, which now has 247,170 signatures, asks the government to legally recognize the Westboro Baptist Church as a hate group. The government hasn’t responded to the petition yet but since the petition has nearly 10 times the amount of signatures required to warrant a response, the White House should be issuing a statement in the near future.

The petition officially closes January 13.

In addition to the 250,000 people who have signed the petition to get the Westboro Baptist Church recognized as a hate group, thousands more have signed petitions to remove the group’s tax exempt status.

President Obama recently responded to another wildly popular petition on the We the People website. A petition to reform gun control laws gathered close to 200,000 signatures and received a response last week. The people are still waiting for the government’s thoughts on letting Texas secede and building a death star.

Baptists are hate groups alright, we hate sin, the devil baby killers rapists, murderers etc, and we believe fully in the BIBLE, OLD AND NEW TESTAMENT. I don"t think that makes this church a hate group. You need to consider the source.

yeah a 2000 year old book comprised of word- of- mouth history lets call it what it really is and remember there are zero facts in the bible get real buddy.

Kevin you do not have one iota that God doesn't exist. I do not have one iota that he does except i believe he does!! I will take faith over your lonely life!!!

God hates SIN not the SINNER/the PERSON! It is not correct or even Biblical to carry signs saying that "God Hates Fags"! They never have a sign saying " God Hates Fornicators, Liars, Adulturers, Gossipers, etc. God views sin as sin, a liar is the same sinner as a person involved in a homosexual realtionship. We as Chrisitians are not supposed to condone any sin, but we are supposed to be Christ-like in our approach to those outside of the Kingdom family. Through love & prayers for the lost many souls will be reconnected to our Heavenly Father. As a "Christian" church Westboro's pastor, leaders, & congregation will have to give account to God at the White Throne of Judgement for every hateful word they spewed toward others in His Name!

    Romans 2:5–6 (ESV).
5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.
6 He will render to each one according to his works:

God commands each of us to read His Holy Living Words for our selves. His Holy Spirit is always there to teach & reveal God's words to us. There is no excuse for anyone to blindly follow the incorrect Biblical teachings & interpretations of any person, preacher, teacher, parent, and/ or spouse!

    2 Timothy 3:16–17 (ESV).
16 All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

Jesus warned us of false prophets and false teachers….
2 Peter 2:1–3 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

All I say is this. Were they my kids and these people decided to picket the funerals it would be their last! I'd blow every damn one of them to hell. Period! They are a disgrace to all religions!

Please note: John SXXXX of Highland, Illinois maybe the first person to recycle frozen dog poop. He did so yesterday. He found it very easy to remove as the poop was frozen as one unit sitting atop his light dusting of first of the year snow. I have it by his own conversation with me – out of respect for the green movement (actually brown in the case of dog poop) and protecting the environment he mailed the poop to:

    Westboro Baptist Church.

BTW: as per Facebook Posting of yesterday this little suggestion/note has gone viral across the internet.

I don't believe in spiritual mumbo gumbo written by bronze age men. That includes Zeus, Apollo, Isis, Amon-Ra or Kinich Ahau, why is it that I should believe in the god of the bible? It's an outmoded belief system that brings nothing but hate, violence and repression of knowledge Oh I am hardly lonely, why do you assume I am?

I actually wish death upon them. They are the worst examples of Christians ever.LOL I hate them more than I dislike the Klan. How can they say the deaths of Children is God's Will? They need more help than Lanza did.Its not nice to wish death on people but in this case I gladly make an exception.Fools like them hold the Human race back.Too bad the Earth can't be purged of such stupidity.

Ok this group is nothing more then a bunch of idiots that use god as a excuse to hate. Are these people so stupid that they cant see that what they are doing is wrong and against gods teaching. I personally am not religious but I do belive there is a creator an sadly but true it takes someone like me to see that alot of the times there are more evils in church. God never said hate homosexuals, nonbelivers exc…he just said if you belive in the bible that they are sinners and will go to hell. Your religon does not give you the right to judge other people ITS NOT YOUR JOB! But GODS! Only he can pass judgement. So to Westboro Baptist Church sadly you are the example of a hate group. Hate is from the devil that you all belive in. Does god teach hate?

This morning,in a voice very Charles Manson like.,The LORD spoke to me,and asked ,if I would please send these FINE Christians to him(in any manner of my chosing). He said he had asked each one personally, but, they had all declined.(out of fear)He said to start with the older ones and work my way down to the younger ones.I'm just beside myself that I could be chosen for such a HOLY undertaking..Thank you LORD for this great opportunity to serve you…All you doubters, watch your local news….The power of the Lord is with-in me…..

Westboro Baptist Church is a blight on Christianity as written in the Bible, the Holy Bible. There cannot be this much "hate" and still have it come from God. If God were to hate anything, it would be (and is) the sin of this world, not any of the people. These people are wicked.

  13. Dave Berkovits

The Westboro Baptist Church is NOT a true Church or Congregation at all and they are forgetting one very important thing that Jesus (Yeshua) said in the gospel and that is"he who is without sin cast the first stone" these people are also forgetting why Christ came, lived and than gave his life and that is so we ALL can have eternal hope and be saved.
While I am not for gov't taking away our rights to free speech I think this group of hate mongers who do NOT preach the true gospel of Jesus Christ needs to be recognized as a hate group and they need to be STOPED from protesting anywhere! Govt needs to do whatever they can to STOP this group!
I will also say this: There were a lot people in that Ct. shooting who died who had a STRONG faith in G-d and there are a lot of men and women serving in our Military who are STRONG Christians and who LOVE Jesus very much and I can NOT understand why this group of SICKOS (Westboro Baptist) can't see that. How can some one be so callous as to protest at a funeral? This group is no better than the killers and as far as I am concerned they are in bed w/the killers.

  14. Bill Dicks

harvey, why call these people scum. I t is very easy to take potshots at your fellowman, but unless you really know their heart, then you should not be name calling. iam giving them the benefit of the doubt.

  15. Bill Dicks

To michael and freddy, my God is alive and he knows our heart. He loves both of you although you say things about him. I pray one day that you will have a personal relationship, as so many of us have .I pray that God will forgive each of you.
