Rush Limbaugh: Mass Shooters Are Mentally Ill Because They’re All Liberals [Audio]

Rush Limbaugh has entered the post-Sandy Hook gun control debate.

During his radio show Friday afternoon, the controversial conservative pundit opined that Newtown, Connecticut shooter Adam Lanza must have been a liberal, because he was “mentally disturbed” before the shooting that claimed the lives of 20 children and six adults last Friday.

Limbaugh quickly walked back on his remark (sort of) saying that “that’s one of those things you just can’t tell the truth about.”

A caller asked Limbaugh if he knew what Adam Lanza’s political orientation, but Limbaugh noted that it didn’t matter, because shootings have been politicized in the past. One ABC reporter falsely accused Aurora, Colorado James Holmes of being a Tea Party member earlier this year. The Tea Partying James Holmes in question ended up being someone other than the accused killer.

The caller also noted that the 2011 Gabby Giffords shooter Jared Loughner was originally considered a “Republican,” but later ended up being “quite liberal.”

“They all are liberal,” Limbaugh replied. “If they’re mentally disturbed.”

“Oh, that’s not fair,” the caller responded.

“You’re right. That was — I’m sorry. You’re terribly right,” Limbaugh said, adding, “That’s one of those things you just can’t tell the truth about. You’re right. I should not have said it. I take that back.”

“We don’t know what his political affiliation was. That’s right,” Limbaugh affirmed.

    Liberals have often contain serious contradictions, half-thoughts, and self-loathing. He's not entirely wrong. Frustration, however, knows no political bounds.

    I quit accepting Limpbaugh's BS "apologies" years ago. He's pathetic, desperate for attention, pitifully insecure and wouldn't know an actual fact if he found one floating in his morning coffee. He'll say anything that goes through his head and isn't the least bit sorry for anything he says or does.
