Beyonce In Talks To Produce ‘Lion King’ Soundtrack And Voice Nala

Looks like Beyonce has a lot in store for her fans as she slowly makes her comeback. The new mother of twins is reportedly considering to take part in the upcoming remake of The Lion King.

According to Screen Rant, Jon Favreau, the award-winning director of the highly-anticipated CG adaptation of The Lion King, is keen on getting Beyonce to voice the future queen of Pride Rock, Nala.

Apparently, Favreau finds Beyonce’s headstrong and tough female image fitting for the role. Aside from the director, there were also claims that Disney is also working hard to close the deal with Beyonce.

An insider revealed that “since it’s a voice-acting role…the studio and director will do whatever it takes to accommodate [Beyonce’s] schedule.”

And it looks like the Grammy Award-winning singer is close to solidifying the deal. Sources revealed that Beyonce already expressed interest to join The Lion King as the voice of Nala.

Aside from lending her voice to the character, reports noted that Beyonce might produce the movie’s soundtrack as well.

However, The Tracking Board revealed that the role of Nala has yet to be confirmed, adding that Disney might be saving the announcement for last because of Beyonce’s possible involvement in it.

Apparently, Beyonce’s potential participation in the soundtrack has made the negotiation process more complicated, so much so that it’s nearly as important as the movie itself.

If Beyonce and Disney landed a deal, fans can expect the singer to bring new songs to the film, as well as classics from the original animated version.

News of Beyonce possibly joining The Lion King comes on the heels of the announcement that Captain America: Civil War actors Alfre Woodward and John Kani have been confirmed to join the cast as lioness Sarabi and mystic monkey Rafiki, respectively.

If the singer did land the role, she will also be joining a star-studded cast, including Donald Glover as Simba, Seth Rogen as Pumba, Billy Eichner as Timon, John Oliver as Zazu, and James Earl Jones returning to the role of Mufasa.

The Lion King is expected to come out in July 2019.

Meanwhile, several reports claimed that Beyonce will be quite busy soon. It has been alleged that the “Formation” singer will be making guest appearances on her husband’s “4:44” tour.

There were also claims that the singer is the frontrunner to perform 007‘s new theme song. According to Radar Online, Beyonce might replace Adele who recorded “Skyfall” in 2012.

However, it is worth noting that Beyonce has not confirmed the claims so it’s best to take everything with a pinch of salt.
