Maci Bookout Doubts Ryan Edwards’ Sobriety, Fears For Her Son Bentley?
Maci Bookout is reportedly concerned about Ryan Edwards’ ability to stay sober.
Although Maci Bookout reportedly breathed a sign of relief when Ryan Edwards checked into rehab in May, she’s now said to be terrified that Edwards, the father of her 8-year-old son Bentley, could return to his old ways.
On July 10, a source spoke to Hollywood Life, revealing that Maci Bookout wants Ryan Edwards to take random drug tests because she doesn’t trust that he can stay sober. That said, Edwards is reportedly not on board with the idea and feels that his former girlfriend has no reason to fear a relapse.
According to the insider, Ryan Edwards thinks Maci Bookout is giving him a hard time in an effort to create drama and make him look bad. As fans of Teen Mom OG will recall, Maci Bookout was first to confirm Ryan Edwards’ struggles with substance abuse and did so while enjoying a vacation with her co-stars, including Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood. She also spoke of Edwards’ struggles with her husband, Taylor McKinney, and admitted that she often fears for his life.
Despite Maci Bookout’s alleged concerns, the insider went on to reveal that Ryan Edwards has been completely devoted to staying sober ever since he checked out of rehab weeks ago. That said, Bookout is reportedly concerned about how Edwards’ behavior could negatively impact their son.
During last month’s Teen Mom OG Season 6B finale episode, Ryan Edwards was seen driving down the road and nearly falling asleep at the wheel before marrying Mackenzie Standifer. A short time later, Standifer asked Ryan Edwards if he had taken a Xanax “again.”

The Hollywood Life insider went on to reveal that Ryan Edwards feels like he can’t get a break and wants a fresh start. As the source explained, Edwards acknowledged that he had a problem, addressed the problem in rehab, and now wants a fresh start.
Ryan Edwards and wife Mackenzie Standifer got married in May before Edwards checked into rehab. Since then, Standifer has deleted her Twitter account and made her Instagram account private after facing backlash from fans in regard to her criticism of Maci Bookout and her decision to share news of Edwards’ struggles on Teen Mom OG.
