Bill Clinton ‘Son’ Verified By Twitter: Danney Williams Vindicated?

Twitter has verified Danney Williams, the black man from Arkansas who claims to be the son of Bill Clinton, according to International Business Times. This could be a big milestone in this young man’s quest to be recognized as the biological son of the former president since Twitter’s elusive blue check mark supposedly serves as a confirmation of identity. After decades of struggle, will Danney finally be vindicated?

Danney Williams’ Story

Danney Lee Williams, who has over 25 thousand followers on Twitter, has claimed for decades to be the son of Bill Clinton. However, his story and his persona received a big media boost during the 2016 election, during which he called on presidential candidate Hillary Clinton to acknowledge him as her stepson, according to International Business Times. Williams used the October press conference to put direct pressure on Hillary and Bill, requesting that they provide him with a DNA sample so that the question of his paternity could be settled once and for all. Williams also pleaded for familial recognition.

“Hillary, please don’t deny my existence. You are my step-mother, Chelsea is my sister, Bill Clinton is my father.”

According to the Inquisitr, Danney’s mother, Bobbie Ann Williams, claimed that she had sex with Bill Clinton in 1984 while she was working as a prostitute and he was serving as governor of Arkansas. Williams stated, in claims dating back to the 1990s, that Bill Clinton noticed her while he was out jogging and propositioned her for sex. According to the Daily Mail, Bobbie Ann Williams claims that she knows Bill Clinton is the father of her son because he was the only white client that she had at the time of Danney’s conception.

In a video explaining his story, Bill Clinton’s alleged son has claimed that the then-governor of Arkansas secretly sent money to his family at the start of each month and also furtively delivered Christmas presents to him with the aid of Arkansas State Troopers. However, Bill Clinton never publicly acknowledged nor officially claimed Danney to be his son.

Will Danney Ever Be Welcomed As Bill Clinton’s Son?

The Daily Mail reports that a DNA test was allegedly conducted in 1999 by Star Magazine and found to be negative. However, there have been many questions as to the test’s validity and accuracy, with some claiming that the DNA test did not use a direct sample from Bill and instead used data from the Ken Starr impeachment report.

Along with requesting DNA from Bill himself, the former president’s alleged son has also appealed to Monica Lewinsky as an ally in his struggle for the truth, comparing his apparent “banishment” from Hillary to her treatment by the former First Lady. He also asked her for a DNA sample from her blue dress, according to International Business Times.

“There is one other way the question of whether Bill Clinton is my father would be by obtaining a small, complete and valid DNA sample from your blue dress, which multiple news sources reported has been preserved.”

After Danney Williams’ October press conference garnered no response from Bill Clinton, his alleged son decided to file a paternity suit in the state of Arkansas to attempt to force Clinton to provide a DNA sample, according to the Go Fund Me page that was created to fund the suit by Williams’ friend Steven Gray. The fundraiser raised $11,169 out of the initial $100,000 goal.

What Does Twitter Verification Mean For Danney Williams?

According to International Business Times, Twitter is willing to verify “account types maintained by users in music, acting, fashion, government, politics, religion, journalism, media, sports, business, and other key interest areas.” It is notoriously difficult for Twitter users with smaller profiles or controversial credentials to get verified. One reporter who tweeted out the news about Bill Clinton’s potential son, Jack Posobiec, has himself complained about the long and frustrating process of his own Twitter verification, which he eventually received.

Although this event has certainly called attention to Danney’s plight, it remains to be seen whether Twitter’s decision to verify Danney Williams will have any effect on his quest to be acknowledged as Bill Clinton’s son.
