‘Dance Moms’ Alum, 14-Year-Old JoJo Siwa, Buys A House

JoJo Siwa may not have shined brightly on Dance Moms, thanks to Abby Lee Miller always shoving her in the corner, but the young star has taken her platform to the next level and proved that she doesn’t need the show to be successful.

The 14-year-old just recently celebrated her birthday and announced that she is purchasing a house in Los Angeles. She is perhaps the first Dance Moms dancer to purchase a home with the income she has generated from her own work, which is pretty incredible.

She quit Lifetime’s hit show, Dance Moms, rather abruptly when she was asked to compete with a ballet dance with teammate Kendall Vertes. It is unknown if she quit the show because of her other commitments, and the production team cooked up some drama, or if she actually quit the show due to the performance.

JoJo Siwa is one of the most successful Dance Moms alums, barring teacher’s pet Maddie Ziegler who has risen to fame by signing with IMG Models, appearing next to Sia on tour, and starring in a mainstream movie.

However, JoJo has debuted a successful line of bows to copy her signature look that has been offered exclusively at Claire’s Accessories. The line became so successful around the world that schools in the United Kingdom reported banning them as a distraction to the students’ learning.

She also debuted the JoJo Singing Doll at Walmart, which croons her hit song, “Boomerang.”

“When I was little, my favorite toys were dolls so it’s the best thing ever to have my very own doll at Walmart. The JoJo Singing Doll is just like me, and I’m so excited for young girls to have the chance to sing along with me in their homes,” the star gushed.

Although she may not be an incredible singer, she’s also made quite a bit of money off of her songs, including “Boomerang,” which has gone viral on YouTube.

The young star not only has a doll, hit songs, and bows, but Walmart has also created a JoJo party line, marketed to young girls throwing birthday parties or small gatherings over the summer. It’s no wonder JoJo can afford her own house at 14.

In addition to her products, JoJo Siwa runs a very successful YouTube channel, and according to Social Blade, rakes in some serious income from her videos alone. On her channel, she vlogs her daily life in addition to doing challenges and collaborations with some of her friends from Dance Moms and the YouTube world.

Her YouTube channel, which stands against bullying and negativity, has been viewed over 526 million times, with her single, “Boomerang,” accounting for almost half of that.

JoJo Siwa also earns some of her impressive income from being signed to Nickelodeon, which puts her in the shadow of some very successful adult actors who began their careers in the same way. She will appear in a 30-minute special entitled JoJo Siwa: My World, which will appear on television this August. The show will follow her as she sings and dances at the Mall of America and debuts two of her newest songs to her fans.

“It’s really cool we could do a deal with Nickelodeon because obviously, who doesn’t watch SpongeBob. I know I used to watch Drake & Josh and iCarly. Even when I was little I remember watching Dora. There are just so many fun memories I have about watching Nickelodeon and now I get to work for Nickelodeon and with Nickelodeon. It’s awesome,” she exclaimed.

The young star has stated that some people criticize her for not growing up too quickly and rushing into more adult roles and outfits. However, she has said that she enjoys acting her own age and isn’t in any rush to grow up.
