Bill Cosby Attorneys Tried To Claim Sexual Assault Victim Andrea Constand Is Gay In Court
Bill Cosby and his attorneys filed legal documents asking the judge to let them introduce evidence accusing alleged sexual assault victim Andrea Constand of being gay.
If she were gay, he wouldn’t have had sex with her?
Bill Cosby and his lawyers attempted one last strategy to clear the shamed comedian’s name. The 79-year-old’s attorneys asked the judge to introduce evidence which they claimed proved that Andrea Constand was gay.
The former actor arrived at the courthouse on Friday alongside comedian Joe Torry.
Cosby’s legal team wanted to show the jury that Constand deceived him, suggesting that he would have never had sex with her if he knew she was gay, TMZ reported.
However, if Constand is actually gay, that would just prove that she most likely did not consent to Cosby’s sexual advances.
The prosecution claimed Cosby’s attorneys were “victim shaming” and that they violated Pennsylvania law, which does not allow evidence involving an alleged victim’s sexual past.
The judge denied the defense motion. The trial is expected to last about two weeks, and Friday marked the fifth day of the sexual assault trial.
Andrea Constand told the police that she had a boyfriend when she was 14 and had sexual contact with a man when she was in her 20’s.

Andrea Constand took the stand on Tuesday to describe the incident that took place with Bill Cosby in 2004, when she was working at Temple University.

Constand described to the jury how Bill Cosby allegedly drugged her, but she did not tell him to stop once she awoke to what she claims to be him raping her, saying that in her head she was trying to “move,” but she was “frozen.”
While testifying, she claimed that the fallen actor gave her three pills, which he said were herbal.

The disgraced comedian, who turns 80 in July, could spend the rest of his life in jail if he is convicted. Bill Cosby is being tried for three counts of sexual assault and faces up to 10 years in prison.
After Andrea Constand came forward with her claim against Cosby, more than 40 other women have come forward to accuse the comedian of sexual assault.
