‘This Is Us’ Spoilers: Mandy Moore Talks ‘Chemistry’ With Milo Ventimiglia, Show Was Originally Very Different

If there’s one thing you can say about NBC’s This Is Us, it’s that it’s a runaway hit. Naturally, then, fans of the show are always on the hunt for the latest This Is Us spoilers.

And now, of course, is no different: Even though we’re still a few months away from the season premiere of the second season of This Is Us, fans still want to know what they can expect from the next season of the show.

Fortunately, the actors are very willing to share all they know about the show, and what we can expect from it. This time around, the press has been talking to Mandy Moore, who plays Rebecca Pearson on the show, who is all-too-happy to share the latest This Is Us spoilers.

One of the biggest she was willing to share, according to Fox News, was how she was able to create such intimate, loving scenes with her co-star and former Heroes actor Milo Ventimiglia, who plays Jack Pearson on the show.

“I walked away going ‘Oh gosh I really hope this comes to fruition’ because I instantly clicked with Milo, and ‘This is really going to be disappointing if this doesn’t happen now.’ Chemistry is not always there — off the bat, and it was with him.”

Meanwhile, according to the latest This Is Us spoilers from the Today show, the Pearson clan was originally supposed to be very different.

Originally, the show wasn’t supposed to be a show at all — in fact, it was supposed to be a movie about octuplets! (A bit of Octomom, anyone?)

The outlet spoke to creator Dan Fogelman, who confirmed as much, adding that he didn’t want to do it this way because he wanted the continuity of character.

“The reason I was struggling with (the movie) wasn’t the plot; it was about these characters and how I didn’t want to ‘beginning-middle-and-end’ them,” said Fogelman. “I wanted to do this continuous story — which felt very much like the theme of the show.” The story gradually focused on Jack and Rebecca and their three kids — twins Kate (Chrissy Metz) and Kevin (Justin Hartley) and their adopted brother, Randall (Sterling K. Brown).”

But there’s a lot more to the show than just some This is Us spoilers (even though we definitely could us as many as we could get!).

According to People Magazine, a few members of the cast showed their love and support to the armed forces — Milo Ventimiglia, Chrissy Metz (who plays Kate Pearson), Mandy Moore, Justin Hartley (who plays Kevin Pearson), and Chris Sullivan (who plays Kate’s boyfriend, Toby) dropped by Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey to give love and support to the men and women in uniform.

But of all the cast members who visited the troops, the one most deeply affected by it was Metz, because her father was in the military when she was a child.

“We get to live our dreams, [and] the only way we could do that is if we have freedom and security of our country. So … to even see how all of this is run, is such a gift that we get to provide and hopefully we get to bring entertainment to [service members and military families].”
