‘General Hospital’ Spoilers: Chimera Project Unleashed At The Nurses Ball Which Begins On Monday May 22, 2017

It is that time of the year again when General Hospital hosts its annual Nurses Ball. This year, the Nurses Ball will have all the usual elements: drama, high fashion, music, and dance. However, what sets this year’s ball apart will be Jake (Hudson West) and the Chimera, a legacy from Helena (Constance Towers). Jake literally holds the wellbeing of the town in his hands, as the Chimera may unleash han evil such as Port Charles has never seen.

The Nurses Ball will kick off on May 22, 2017, and will continue for the entire week culminating in a climactic ending on Friday, May 26, 2017. Every year since 1994, General Hospital hosts the Nurses Ball in Port Charles. Originally founded by Lucy Coe (Lynn Herring), the Nurses Ball serves a dual purpose. In the world of the ABC soap, it is a charity event to promote and raise funds for HIV/AIDS, and at the same time inform the General Hospital about HIV/AIDS. However, it is also a clever tool that the General Hospital producers use to show off the other talents that their cast may have as well as a chance for everyone to dress up and be glamorous. It forms part of their storyline every year and has become an institution for General Hospital viewers.

The Glitz And Glamour Of The General Hospital Nurses Ball

According to TV Source Magazine, the cast will entertain viewers with song and dance.

“The dazzling event will feature cast performances of songs from David Bowie, George Michael and Billy Joel. Kiki and Dillon show off their moves. Eddie Maine shares a duet with his lovely bride-to-be. Valentin makes a romantic gesture in hopes of winning back Nina. As with every year, don’t expect everything to go as plan. The chimera may finally bear its claws and someone may find themselves in harm’s way.”

TV Insider reports that General Hospital executive producer Frank Valentini says that the 2017 Nurses Ball will even include some special appearances.

“This will be GH‘s 13th Nurses Ball,” said Valentini, “and each year our wonderful viewers have come to expect plenty of music, dance, glamor and, of course, an abundance of drama. This year will be extra special, as we’ll have several tribute performances honoring the work of contemporary artists who have recently passed away, including David Bowie.”

General Hospital viewers will also be treated to the sexy Mario Lopez as host of this year’s Nurses Ball.

“Also this year, actor and Extra host (among his other gigs) Mario Lopez—perhaps trying to give Ryan Seacrest and Steve Harvey a run for who can appear on television the most—will make his General Hospital debut on the Nurses Ball red carpet alongside Port Charles’ fashion magazine maven Nina Clay-Cassadine (Michelle Stafford) as they welcome viewers. KABC Los Angeles entertainment reporter George Pennacchio will also return to the red carpet for a fifth time.”

Jake Wields The Chimera: The Fate Of Port Charles To Be Decided

Jake Webber has a secret, and the secret lies in the metal tube that has the Chimera stamped on it. Jake has been trained by Helena to unleash the contents of the tube at the right time at the right place. Jake is fighting an inward battle to break free from Helena’s programming to unleash the toxin that could destroy the town. Will the fate of Port Charles really lie in the hands of Jake and whether he has enough mental strength to defeat the mental programming he has undergone at the hands of Helena?

Helena trained Jake to destroy Port Charles with the Chimera Project. General Hospital fans will remember that Jake drew the Chimera, touched it and said, “I remember you.” Helena’s henchman delivered the gift to Jake just in time for the Nurses Ball. At the previous Nurses Ball, Jake sang. But at this year he will be delivering a magic act that could take their breath away.
