Selena Gomez Is Living A Dream With Boyfriend The Weeknd, Did She Upgrade From Justin Bieber?
Selena Gomez is so happy and fulfilled by her “grownup” relationship with boyfriend The Weeknd.
According to a new report, Selena Gomez’s romance with the “Starboy” singer, real name Abel Tesfaye, is far different than her past relationships.
“[Selena Gomez] and [The Weeknd] are deliriously happy together — their relationship is so healthy and fulfilling,” an insider told Hollywood Life on May 19.
“They’re both so supportive and respectful of each other. Selena says it’s the first really grownup relationship she’s ever had.”
As fans will recall, Selena Gomez dated Justin Bieber exclusively from 2010 to 2012 and for years after their relationship ended, they were seemingly on and off. However, after a heated fight erupted between them in August of last year over a photo of Bieber and his then-flame, Sofia Richie, they seemingly went their separate ways for good.
As fans may recall, Selena Gomez called Justin Bieber out on Instagram after he fired at fans for their mean comments about Richie. According to Gomez, Bieber shouldn’t take aim at his fans because they have been the ones that have supported him throughout his years-long career. Right away, Bieber accused Gomez of using him for attention and she accused him of cheating.
After her social media encounter with Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez entered into a three-month treatment program in Tennessee due to struggles with anxiety and depression.
According to Hollywood Life‘s report, Selena Gomez has been feeling especially inspired about her future after attending the wedding of her Wizards Of Waverly Place co-star, David Henrie.
While Selena Gomez isn’t quite ready for marriage or babies, the Hollywood Life insider claimed she is thinking about the possibility of settling down.
“[Selena Gomez’s] health is awesome, her relationship is flourishing, and her career is skyrocketing,” the insider continued.
“Sometimes Selena has to punch herself to make sure she isn’t dreaming. She’s honestly living her dream life right now, the one that she’s always envisioned for herself, and could not be happier.”
Selena Gomez and The Weeknd went public with their relationship in January of this year just two months after Gomez returned to the spotlight at the 2016 American Music Awards in Los Angeles.
According to a report, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd are getting stronger as a couple with each day that goes by.
“It’s getting better and better between [Selena Gomez] and [The Weeknd] each and every day,” a source told Hollywood Life earlier this month.
“As they learn more about each other their bond and love grows, Selena says she has to pinch herself sometimes, to check that she’s not dreaming!”
“[Abel] loves absolutely everything about Selena — her beauty, talent, intelligence, her body — but he says his two favorite things about [Selena Gomez] are her smile, which makes him weak at the knees, and her heart.”
“He loves how caring and sweet she is, and how generous and kind she is to her fans, friends and family,” the source added.
In recent months, Selena Gomez and The Weeknd have made their romance no secret. In addition to a number of outings with friends in Los Angeles, the couple has also been seen sightseeing in Italy and spending time in Amsterdam, Brazil, and France, where The Weeknd performed shows as part of his Starboy: Legend of the Fall Tour.
Selena Gomez and The Weeknd also recently made their red carpet debut at the “Rei Kawakubo/Comme des Garcons: Art Of The In-Between” Costume Institute Gala in New York City.
