Jessica Simpson Talks About Lessons She’s Learned Being ‘Every Size’

Jessica Simpson has been criticized by the media for her fluctuating weight, but the singer turned fashion mogul says she’s learned many valuable lessons from being several different sizes in her life.

She was recently interviewed about her fashion line, which has made her more money than her days as a singer. The icon talked about the importance of including every woman in her fashion line.

“It’s very important for me to let every woman feel included. Like, every person needs to feel included. If I make a shirt, I’m going to make sure every size is available. Because I have been every size, trust me.”

Jessica Simpson also confided that she finds it funny that people are always surprised they like her line, and she thinks perhaps it is because she was once “a cheesy popstar back in the day.”

Simpson also told interviewers that she is often underestimated when it comes to her line. However, the star has said she doesn’t put out anything that she doesn’t 100 percent approve and that every item must go through several stages and get approved by Jessica and her mother, Tina.

The reality star, singer, and fashion mogul has faced tons of backlash due to her weight. When she was a pop star a decade ago, she confessed to not eating much and working out a lot in order to get down to the 102 lbs her label wanted her to weigh. However, she was often miserable at that weight.

While she gained quite a bit of weight with her two children, she has kept the weight off since giving birth to her son, Ace, in 2013.

“Media scrutiny sucks. I can’t sit here and say I don’t notice it. I will never understand why people take someone down for what you look like. If I had a character flaw, take me down. But a body flaw? That’s not important,” she said.

The blonde beauty also talked about some of her favorite physical aspects about herself.

“I’m hard on myself, I believe everything is a work in progress. But that’s OK. I do love my legs, but my favorite physical attribute is my nose, because it’s not perfect. But recently, since I’ve worked out so hard, I’m also loving my stomach—knowing I grew babies in it, and then having to go through a transformation and just owning it,” she said.

She revealed that one of her biggest secrets to body confidence is having sex.

Jessica’s family has recently learned the good news that her father, Joe, is now cancer free. Jessica Simpson’s father was diagnosed with prostate cancer back in November, and initially, it was difficult for Jessica and her younger sister, Ashlee, but they have been rocks for their father during the hard times.

“They are being positive, uplifting forces for him and are helping him get through this. With Joe’s faith in God and his family’s support, he knows he will come out of this strong,” a source said.

Joe divorced Jessica Simpson’s mother, Tina, after 34 years of marriage in 2013. However, according to insiders, the diagnosis and his journey through radiation has shown Joe what matters most.

“It has opened his eyes to eating healthier and exercising. This diagnosis has brought Joe and his family together and reminded him that what matters most is family,” the source revealed.

Now, Joe is spending as much time as he can with his daughters and his adorable grandchildren. The family is now coming closer together after his diagnosis and is thrilled with the news that the family patriarch is finally in remission and cancer free.
