Gwen Stefani Taunted By Blake Shelton For Losing Team Before ‘Voice’ Finale?

Blake Shelton reportedly teased girlfriend Gwen Stefani about not having any singers left on The Voice this season.

Tuesday night’s results show of The Voice ended horribly for Gwen, seeing both of her singers go home in the course of one night. Her artists, Brennley Brown and Hunter Plake, were eliminated in the Twitter Instant Save, and now her fellow coaches each have representatives in next week’s finale while she does not. Adam Levine has Jesse Larson, Alicia Keys has Chris Blue, and Blake has two singers, Lauren Duski and Aliyah Moulden.

While this was undoubtedly sad for Gwen, boyfriend Blake may not have helped matters, according to a new report from HollywoodLife.com. The publication cites a source that said Blake was teasing Gwen about not having any more singers after Tuesday night’s live show.

“As soon as The Voice taping ended, Blake [Shelton] began with the joking and teasing of Gwen [Stefani] losing to him yet again,” the source allegedly said. “He is hilarious and a really nice guy, so the joking has been really sweet and nice, but he is definitely letting Gwen have it about her not having any singers heading into the final episodes.”

Gwen has not had great luck in getting her contestants to the end on The Voice. In Season 7, her first as a coach, her final singer was eliminated in the Semifinals and was not represented in the finale. In Season 9, she managed to get Jeffery Austin to the finale, though he came in fourth place out of the four finalists. As for Season 12, both Brennley and Hunter had success charting high on iTunes and appeared to be frontrunners to potentially make the finale, but they surprisingly came up short.

The Voice source also spoke on how Gwen is fully aware of Blake’s success on the show.

“Gwen has been taking it well, she knows Blake is a huge fan-favorite, has a loyal following and is great at coaching his singers. She fell in love with him for all of those reasons and Gwen laughs at Blake every time he reminds her that he is the best and tells her, ‘You can’t beat me, I am the winningest Voice coach of all time!'”

Blake has won five of the first 11 seasons of The Voice, having coached winning contestants Jermaine Paul in Season 2, Cassadee Pope in Season 3, Danielle Bradbery in Season 4, Craig Wayne Boyd in Season 7 and Sundance Head in Season 11. He now has two representatives in the finale of Season 12 and considering Lauren charted at no. 1 on iTunes this week for her cover of Shenandoah’s “Ghost in This House,” her immense popularity could net Blake yet another victory. Only time will tell if Blake will be able to boast about winning half of the show’s 12 seasons.

Meanwhile, Gwen and Blake are still dating after first going public with their romance in late 2015. While they came clean about their relationship halfway Season 9 of The Voice, this current 12th season is their first full installment as a public dating couple. The show alluded to their relationship throughout the Blind Auditions, though the references have cooled down now that the live shows portion of the season has taken over.

Gwen and Blake had a memorable moment during Season 10 of The Voice, in which they performed live together on “Go Ahead and Break My Heart,” a song off his latest studio album, If I’m Honest. The performance featured the pair locking eyes as they romantically sang about their love.

The Voice performance finale airs Monday from 8-10 p.m. ET/PT on NBC, while the Season 12 finale, which will crown the winner at the end of the night, airs Tuesday from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT on NBC.
