Matthew Vaughn To Direct Star Wars 7 [Rumor, Video]

There is mounting evidence that Matthew Vaughn of X-Men: First Class fame is going to be directing the newest installment in the Star Wars franchise, episode 7.

Jason Flemyng was found on the red carpet at the UK release of Seven Psychopaths by the British website Hey You guys! Flemyng is best known for his roles in Lock, Stock, and Two Smoking Barrels, The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and X-Men: First class with Vaughn.

Flemyng was asked about Vaughn’s possible role as director of Star Wars and whether there was a role for him in it. Flemyng immediately started talking about his history with Vaughn and that Vaughn would find a role for him in the new Star Wars flick. The interveiwer, who took a minute to pick up on what he had just heard, tried to confirm with Flemyng whether Vaughn was interested in Star Wars or not.

Flemyng then tried to dodge the insinuation by over reacting to the question saying in an exaggerated way:

“Uh… YEAH, he’s ‘interested!'”

Vaughn has also helped spark the rumor by dropping out of the next X-Men movie very suddenly and without explanation.

There will still be a lot of speculation as there are still many rumors as to who will be tapped to be the director. The Inquisitr has already reported that five directors have bowed out already and made it clear they will not be directing including: Stephen Speilberg, J.J. Abrams and Quentin Tarrantino
