Justin Bieber Defends His Overalls On Instagram

Justin Bieber caught a lot of flack from folks after he was photographed wearing overalls during his meeting with the Canadian Prime Minister. According to The Hollywood Gossip, the singer has issued a statement in his own defense.

The Canadian pop sensation accepted the Diamond Jubilee Medal from Prime Minister Stephen Harper on Saturday, an event which included a pair of controversial overalls. Since many thought his wardrobe was inappropriate, it didn’t take long for the backlash to commence.

Hayley Peterson at the Daily Mail went as far as to describe Bieber as a “white trash prince,” a title that apparently didn’t settle too well with the singer.

In order to address the comments made by Peterson and countless other celebrity gossip bloggers, Bieber took to Instagram to explain his side of the story.

Here’s what Justin had to say about his outfit of choice:

“The pic of me and the Prime Minister was taken in a room in the arena where i was performing at that day. I walked straight from my meet and greet to him, if you ‘Hayley’ expect me to have a change of clothes let a loan a suit at that specific time that’s crazy, It wasn’t like it was like I was going into his environment we were at a hockey arena. Wow am i ever white trash hayley peterson lol.”

According to the New York Daily News, Prime Minister Stephen Harper issued his own tweet about Bieber’s attire once the overalls started receiving international attention.

“In fairness to (Bieber), I told him I would be wearing my overalls too,” Harper joked.

Regardless of Bieber’s reasoning, many people seem to think it was highly disrespectful to meet with the Canadian Prime Minister wearing a pair of overalls and a backwards baseball cap.

Do you think Justin Bieber’s attire was inappropriate?
