Morgan Freeman Is Now Supporting Gay Marriage

Morgan Freeman

You can all rest easy now because Morgan Freeman, otherwise known as God, has announced that he supports the highly debated social issue known as gay marriage. Morgan, who’s been most recently known for his multiple resurrections from death, per Internet hoaxes, is using his voice by taking a stance to support gay marriage.

Freeman’s voice, who in the past has aided the plight of penguin life, can be heard in a new advertisement for the Human Rights Campaign. Freeman uses his powerful voice as images of sunrises, Martin Luther King, and the Constitution pass by. The commercial comes to a close with Freeman’s prolific voice saying, “And, with historic victories for marriage, we’ve delivered a mandate for full equality. The wind is at our back, but our journey has just begun.”

Chad Griffin, who’s the president for The Human Rights Campaign, spoke about the plight of the campaign for marriage equality, telling Buzzfeed:

“This year proved to be a pivotal turning point in the movement for marriage equality and now we press onward with renewed vigor and public opinion squarely on our side. As we continue the march toward full equality in legislatures and the courts, it is crystal clear that the prospect of an equal future is no longer up for debate; the question now is how soon it will arrive.”

This isn’t the first time Morgan Freeman has spoke out about gay rights, sort of. A fake Twitter account called @MorgonFreeman used Morgan Freeman’s image as God from the film Bruce Almighty back in August to voice an opinion about homophobia. At the time the tweet made headlines, but it was debated whether or not the account was fake. As of now the Freeman account remains unverified.

Do you think Morgan Freeman’s support for equality will bring a new movement to the Human Rights Campaign?

I do not believe in same sex marriage as it is set in the Bible as between man and woman, the part that I disagree with is the sign being held saying God abhores you, God does not abhore anyone he hates the sin that is being commited not the sinner as we have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, it is through his grace that any of are saved. Homosexuality is a sin plain and simple, the same as stealing, or lying they are all sins and God looks at them all the same, any one of us that asks for forgiveness will be forgiven, then he asks us to sin no more, he knows that it is impossible so he makes room for us to ask daily to be forgiving of our shortcommings of that day, but after we ask for forgiveness we are to not keep committing that particular sin.

Morgan Freeman's support does nothing but show how one more person has been guilted into chaning their opinion. It's all about being "politically correct" and if you speak your mind, you're black listed/ranted on, until you change your mind. So much for freedom of speech. Which is protected by the constitution.

The Bible also says…."You are all God, and are created in the eyes of God" Not "You are All God, except you Homosexuals!" Homosexuality is inborn! Why would anybody in their right mind choose a sexual orientation that has been the focus of ridicule and condemnation by society? Being Gay is Not… I repeat is Not a Choice! Do your Home Work! There has been scientific research studies to prove this! Amen!

I don't believe in same sex marriage God says in the bible Bible that marriage is between man and woman. He created adam and eve not adam and steve.

The question should be "Is someone elses' choice of a life partner any of my business"? The answer is, NO. end of discussion.

No, I do not support same sex marriage. It's not marriage it's carnal connections . You can love who you want but it doesn't make a marriage god does and it's between a man and a woman. Procreation people make a union and mankind!

  7. Donna Kay Jewell Wingfield

No to same sex marriage! Marriage was instituted to protect women and the children they bore.
The term "marriage" just isn't applicable to two people of the same sex.

So much ignorance and hate all because the bible says so! The bible also says that if a husband dies it is the brother or the husband who now has a wife and children! Rediculous! If two people love each other they should be able to get married. Why is it that christian people always want to judge others and what they are doing!?

  9. Michael Bunte

Because religion blinds most people that follows it… Well Christianity. That said I've. Ever known a Buddhist want to commit genocide in the name of their god or deity.

Should your beliefs be able to dictate how others live their lives and what government contracts they can sign? I don't believe in god or religion, but I am not out there trying to pass laws that say you are not entitled to believe in what you believe in. As long as the law is not being broken and no harm is being cause to a third party (and no matter what you think, two gay men down the block do not harm you in any way shape or form, and the fact that you may stay up all night thinking about what they may be doing in their bedroom is your problem because most people don't sit up thinking about that you may do with your husband) then there should be NO reason why two consenting adults should not be able to sign a legal contract with the state. And I'm sure you wear polyester clothes, but your hair, sleep in the same house as your husband when you are menstruating and eat shell fish and pig products. Just the fact that you are on here preaching the bible, goes against the bible since is states that women should not teach the bible.

Michael Bunte First part is good, but I had to comment on the fact that Buddhists don't have a god or deity.

Please learn what freedom of speech really is. It is freedom from government restriction or persecution. It is not protection from public ridicule or "blacklisting" Anyone is free to speak their mind and not fear going to federal prison. But speaking your mind comes with benefits and consequences. Get an education.

God also said that women raped should be forced to marry their attacker. The fictional character from the bible said a lot of immoral things. So what? If you want to live in a theocracy, move to Iraq.

  14. Michael Brown

I am supporting in equality marriage for all! There is no US Constitution says only man and woman should marry?

@Michael – Christianity totally condemns violence. If anything, it is Christians who have violence done to them by the rest of the world. Jesus Christ and almost all of His apostles/disciples were persecuted and murdered. They did violence to nobody. Jesus did nothing wrong to anybody in His life on Earth and was sinless (being God), and yet they killed Him.

just as long as they leave me and mine alone things will be alright—-if they cross into my life then they will get something right between their blinkers.
