Actress Jaimie Alexander suffered a horrible injury on the set of the upcoming superhero sequel Thor: The Dark World. According to Worst Previews, Alexander recently coughed up some graphic details regarding the accident.
Outside of stating that the injury was “horrible,” the actress didn’t say too much about the accident when it happened last September. However, she decided to discuss the fiasco during a recent interview with the New York Post.
“t was raining, it was dark outside, it was like five in the morning — and I went down a metal staircase, slipped, and slipped a disc in my thoracic spine and chipped eleven of my vertebrae,” the Thor 2 co-star explained. “I knocked my left shoulder out of place and tore my rhomboid on my right side. It took me out of filming for a month.”
Alexander added, “I’m walking in heels again though, so that’s a good sign.”
Jaimie Alexander discussed her Thor 2 injury while attending the Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 premiere with boyfriend Peter Facinelli.
The actress said that she’d been keeping her fans up to date with her recovery on the micro-blogging site Twitter. Alexander also mentioned that, while the Thor 2 filming schedule was shifted a bit to accommodate her injury, everything is still on track.
At the time of the incident, Alexander didn’t reveal too many details about her injuries.
“Today I sustained a pretty horrible injury. I’m lucky I’m not paralyzed. Thank you (with all of my heart) to those who’ve looked after me,” she wrote on Twitter.
In addition to the Thor sequel, the actress will appear in a handful of upcoming features. This January, Jaimie Alexander will star with action hero Arnold Schwarzenegger in South Korean director Jee-woon Kim action flick The Last Stand.
Alexander is also slated to appear in writer-director David Marconi’s Intersection and Annette Haywood-Carter’s family drama Savannah with Jim Caviezel, Jack McBrayer, and acclaimed playwright Sam Shepard.
Thor: The Dark World, starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, and Idris Elba, opens in North American theaters on November 8, 2013.
