Anne Hathaway Is Dazzled By The Sloppy Swish On ‘Saturday Night Live’ [Video]

Anne Hathaway was featured in a number of funny skits during this weekend’s episode of Saturday Night Live, though none of them came close to topping the “Sloppy Swish” sketch. The song will set up shop inside your head whether you like it or not.

This weekend’s episode of the long-running late night comedy show marked the Les Miserables star’s third hosting gig. Apparently she’s learned a thing or two from her previous appearances, as this episode could be her funniest yet.

Hathaway’s monologue consisted of a parody version of “One More Day,” which found the actress singing alongside a large portion of the Saturday Night Live cast. While funny in its own way, nothing can really top the SNL Digital Short The Legend of Mokiki and the Sloppy Swish.

Narrated by cast member Kenan Thompson, the clip tells the tale of an unfortunate medical laboratory test patient who ended up losing his mind after years on the job. Unstable and living on the streets, the man called Mokiki now spends his days doing a dance called the Sloppy Swish around New York City.

While it’s clear that some of the moments in the short are staged, many feature real people and their unscripted reactions to Mokiki and his peculiar dance. Anne Hathaway plays a character who becomes obsessed with the guy and his charming moves. It may not sound like much on paper, but it’s actually quite funny.

Director Tom Hooper’s cinematic adaptation of Les Miserables is slated to hit theaters on December 25. In addition to Hathaway, the film stars Hugh Jackson, Russell Crowe, Amanda Seyfried, Helena Bonham Carter, and Sacha Baron Cohen.

While you’re waiting for the film to hit theaters, you can catch the acclaimed actress’ encounter with Mokiki and the Sloppy Swish by watching the video embedded below.
